Hi, I'm looking to build my first gaming setup after many years of wanting to do so. I have a few bits that were bought for me as gifts a couple years back and have been looking at the remaining parts that I need.

Just looking for some advice on whether I'm making any mistakes with anything below or if I can get anything better for cheaper.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 3.5 GHz 6-Core Processor £136
Motherboard:
Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2 ATX AM4 Motherboard £156
Memory:
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory (Have already)
Storage: Western Digital Black SN770 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive £70
Video Card:
PowerColor Red Devil OC Radeon RX 6750 XT 12 GB Video Card £460
Case:
Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower Case (Have already)
Power Supply: Corsair RM750x (2018) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (Have already)

Thanks in advance!

Alex

I'd go with the Gigabyte Gaming X V2 for £115 inc freedel or the Asus B550M-A II Wifi for £110 inc freedel, if you need the wifi. Just because.., Ryzen 5 5600 is cheap and pretty much runs on anything, £156 motherboard, not so cheap.

With the money you would save on the above motherboards you could get yourself a better cooler as the stock one is ok but can be bettered for less than the saving you would make like:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £210.89 (includes delivery: £0.00)

Thanks all for the advice!

Out of interest how much of a difference would upgrading the CPU to a 5700x or 5800x have on the performance of the system. I tend to play strategy's (Total War) and RPG's, would the added expense be worth it in the long run?

Meh, it is a toss up. I'd keep the £30 myself. I suspect a more noticeable difference would be to retain the 5600 non-X in your original spec and sink the extra ££ on the ASRock 6800.

do a cost per frame comparison including new AMD AM5 cpu's which are all discounted for blackfri

If buying all new, price diff now is very close going 7600x or 5800X3D..of course depending where in world you are prices vary but interesting none the less..going AM5 now actually becomes quite cheap, price per frame
