It's still that but its also not really all that different to what it was way back then, for as long as I can remember and certainly back to the 70's there has always been kits.

I thought I could do my house renovation with a single 4! I quickly realised that was a stupid idea when I got the circular saw.

you have to remember that this is basically the only reason lego is still around, they were heavily declining as a business and the pivot to licensed sets etc was what turned them around.
 
Kids doesn't want to play with real plain lego using imagination now, they want to do that in Minecraft.

So adults is targeted with nostalgia to get them to part with their money, and it works.

I don't mind, you can still do the same anyway, their range is absolutely massive.
 
I got a couple of 5AH Dewalt compatibles off Amazon, was a bit dubious at first but they have been spot on.

last just as long at a third of the price.

Got Ride 4 off a key site for PVC having seen some videos online showing it with photo realistic visuals. They weren't wrong...

Little tip if using to make funiture, whilst great for strength pocket hole joints never quite keep the two pieces perfectly aligned as the angle the screw goes in at always pulls the joint a little, especially when the using PVA / wood glue of choice on the joints too, frustrtaing when making furniture. To stop this, I always apply a bit of instant hold mitre glue (glue one piece, activator on the other) near the pocket joint, place the pieces together and the mitre glue instantly holds and then screw into the pocket hole, strength and alignment everytime.

I've had a couple of the cheap Amazon ones, one failed after around 2 years and the other is still going. Still at £20 each i'd happily buy again.

Good to know, thanks! When I ordered this it also recommended a doweling jig which I quite fancy, so I might grab that too to help stop this issue.

I did look at Remarkable 2 but we use the Kindle Bookstore and didn't want to lose that so went with the Scribe.
