People who anthropomorphise their car

Because we're human, and all a little bit weird in our own way.

I, for instance, like to have my satnav map facing north, so I always know roughly what direction I'm driving in and if it's in the correct part of the compass.

Apparently, most people say this makes me a monster.

Everyone I know kicks off in my car as I'm exactly the same as you. Nobody holds a map upside down so why would you do it on a sat nav?!

People do. People hold maps upside down. It's insane but true.

In central London there are little local maps on boards, it took me a while to figure out that they're all placed "as you're facing" rather than north side up. Criminal!

I call mine Agatha! Just a tradition I've had, to use alliteration (kinda) and old women's names for my cars. So there's Agatha Alfa, Audry Audi, Geraldine Golf.

I don't claim they have personalities though.

I think people have the wrong idea. naming the car, not so bad. My initial gripe was aime at those wronguns that treat them as they're human and give them human traits/characteristics etc.
