Anyone still play Unreal Tournament 99 ?

On January 24, 2023, we will be turning off online services for some older Unreal and Unreal Tournament titles. Players can continue to play single or local multiplayer modes offline. Thank you for playing and creating for the Unreal series over the years!

I'd assume you can still use direct IP to connect to online servers - and there are likely 3rd party master lists/browser now I've not played it in ages though.

As an aside I have a deep loathing for developers/publishers who sunset games making them unplayable any more and absolutely refuse to purchase any future IP from them.

God I spent so many hours of my life on that game.
To this date I will think they were the best multiplayer levels, Morpheus with the shock rifle sending people flying off into space

cracker of a game, not much competes gaming wise going on a killing spree, choppin up enemies with the minigun and that sound track pumping !!!

One thing though, with it no longer for sale it would become abandonware. So we could all share the installers, I have 99 and Gold Gog installers.

I have them on Steam too, but you can't really share the installs though. Also 2004 is far better than 99.

Well at least we can agree that its better than 3, 3 still wasn't terrible though. Loved 2004, made mutators for it.

remember ut99 came out in 2009, and when 2004 came out, hardly anyone went over to it,
it might be now 2004 has over taken 99 because its newer and ut99 takes a bit of installing properly to get running

It doesn't matter what was played in 2004, the fact of the matter is that if you look at both games today without nostalgia, 2004 is better.

I played a bit of UT99. I was more of a ONS fan with 2004. I loved 2004. 2003 was awful.

Ahh, the good old days. I remember when I got a Voodoo 3 AGP, then maxing out UT99.
