Ah damn sorry to hear that. Good to hear you're getting better. Was it definitely Covid? I was shivering for about 30 mins earlier now I'm really hot again, can't stop coughing, feel rotten.
hi there, yes it was 100% covid tested positive on Friday after feeling absolutely horrendous overnight on Thursday, was shivering like crazy Thursday night in bed and at that time I thought it was where I been up in the loft boarding and insulating. Stupidly at that point I didnt think it would be Covid, the thought never even crossed my mind. The wife was pretty much trying to restrain me in bed because the shivers were totally out of control. I was fully clothed, even had a 2nd warm fleecey snuggie type thing on. Had extra blanket on the bed, heating on etc. My face was burning up, my skin was like lava but I was convinced I was cold because of the shivers. The wife actually tested negative first thing Friday morning as I tested positive, but then Friday evening she said she's got a tickly cough and feels a bit cold. Saturday morning first thing as she got up she had a positive test and at that point we started worrying for out little girl as we had been close the previous 2 days.
Then as Saturday went on you could see the difference in our girl, she started to look very unsure, was very quiet, wasn't eating her food. Come the middle of the afternoon she started to show signs of a temperature, flushed face and started being sick. Within a few hours she had a horrendous fever, was kinda weak and had projecticle vommited a few times more at that point it was 999 and full on panic. They were unable to get an ambulance to us, I got the impression because we were all Covid positive they didn't want to send help but suggested we get her to A&E asap. Got there at 10pm, there was a 14 hour wait to get seen but when we were explaining everything to the front reception, a nurse/doctor behind saw my girl and rushed around to take her in to get looked at. Annoyingly because both myself and the wife had Covid, they would only allow one of us in with her, so obviously the wife went in. They told me to go home, get some rest which obviously I was annoyed and angry didn't want to be to far from them or the Hospital, they wouldn't let me wait inside or anywhere isolated. So went back to the car and spent from 10pm till 4am in -6 temps putting the heater on every now and again to keep some sort of warmth in the car whilst I was getting updates from a very frightened, sick, tired wife. She was panicking as my girl was really ill, was cranky, would not feed. It took her fear to another level when they got increasingly worried by her 180 heartbeat not being able to be reduced even though her temp came down from 38.9 to 37.6 or something. Because of the worry with the heart they then started telling my wife she needed ECG's and such, course my wife was loosing it, I was out in the car and not allowed to go in, had like 8% battery with no charger etc, everything about the night was like a nightmare, I broke down quite a few times with the thought I had brought this back into the house and given it to my wife and child. Apart from dealing with the run up to the passing of my father back in 2016, this was the hardest and most scary night of my life, I went through so much mentally, it was torture.
But, luckily she finally showed some recovery to meds later in the morning and at like 4am was told they were happy to let her out as the ECG looked fine and her hearrate was starting to get under control with meds. Since Monday, I'd say we've gotten over the worst of and now just dealing with what I'd just class pretty standard cold like symptoms.
I tell you what though, one very weird thing I'd had since Sunday is this really bad stomach pains, kinda upper stomach area. They come every few minutes maybe 6 or 7 times a day and last for about an hour each time. It's incredibly painful and just causes me to cramp over, very strange. I've also just about lost all taste and smell, Apple Juice is just another level weird now, it's a totally different taste.
The best news though is our little girl seems like she's really coming around today, almost back to her normal self I'd say with just a little raspy cough.
