The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

I mean why would anyone want such glass in a vehicle that runs on electric including the door opening mechanism? The battery decides to burst into flames and you can't open the windows or doors and the glass is thermonuclear explosion proof. You can sit there and say what a genius Elon is as you burn to death.

I mean, who would want the emergency services to come and break their windows to rescue them in the case of a crash anyway? I mean sure, I always carry my own tactical nuke around in my pocket for emergencies but apparently even THAT wouldn't be enough!

Having a working assumption that your mild criticism was genuine, is being fair; which is precisely why it was assumed in my post.

You know... To be fair to you... As opposed to dismissing it out of hand as dishonest.

Sorry, but this is a very strange thing for you to take umbrage with.

Made my mind up about what? What have I hand waved away? What side am I on?

I suspect that this is classic projection.

The fact that you are even mentioning sides at all, suggests that that's precisely the lens that you view this through.

As opposed to considering the actual actions of Elon Musk over recent weeks, your words here suggest that you consider this little more than a team sport.

If that's true, then I think that's a shame, because you're unlikely to be able to be remotely objective.

Yes I did, because you told me. And I worked on that assumption, remember?

Unfortunately for you, our 1st interaction in this thread was you deciding to wade in and make assumptions (following my facetious response to one of the very strange posters that run around calling anyone that isn't in the daily 'musk is an idiot club' a fanboy). You remember that conversation right? The one where you said people should simply judge an event individually and apply criticism where it was warranted and then proceeded to backtrack immediately after I pointed out that had happened already.

Injecting a tiny "I don't agree with this little bit but..." disclaimer, into what is a 100+ post long defence against all criticism of him, doesn't really count as criticism itself in my opinion

Hell in the backtracking itself you once again make an assumption of what my view is of musk is as you've no clue, just run along with what 'the club' have said. Quite a few times you've made an incorrect assumption isnt it. Your little snippet is just a continuation of your false assumptions, a snide little comment as apparently I'm a musk apologist. Nothing more nothing less. If you really want to know what my opinion on something is all you have to do is just ask Gordon.

Outside of this thread I haven't posted about musk once, I don't give a **** about tesla as I just don't care about ev's, would I buy one if I ever changed my stance on them? God no, I don't find them aesthetically pleasing. I can appreciate what hes trying to do with SpaceX as I think it's a noble goal, but again, in general it's not something I'm really bothered about.

As to what side you are on, considering you've given 'thumbs up' to the most childish of posts from our resident lefties I think that's clear to see.

Sorry that's a meaningless retort. Where exactly have I lacked nuance?

So the kid calls himself a citizen journalist and its cool right?

Eh? Nope the rule relates to anyone AFAIK.

So if I was to walk down a street in Chigwell and see a famous footballer, take a pic of him and post it on twitter with a easy to identify location in the photo or just say "just seen Harry Kane on Chigwell High Road", I could fall foul of this new rule?

Yes, I mean it's not that complicated surely?

Aside from the strange accusation of backtracking, which I absolutely have not done, I'm struggling to properly follow this.

Given that you mentioned the word four times in your diatribe (see the bolded sections above), it would appear that you're under the impression that I've made multiple incorrect assumptions about you.

If I have done then that would be wrong of me, but I currently do not recognise that charge at all; so I'm afraid you'll have to be very specific about precisely what false assumptions about you, you think I've made.

You've mentioned an apparent assumption about your "view of Musk", but perhaps if you could quote me making these multiple incorrect assumptions about you, then we could examine whether or not they were actually about you at all, and if they were, then whether or not they were reasonable to make, bearing in mind that at this stage I've now read most of this thread.

I'm sorry that you've found my 'thumbs up' to certain posts offensive.

I usually 'thumbs up' posts where people have said something that I agree with, and they're not intended to offend anyone; but perhaps I should be more considerate of other people's feelings. I'll try to do less 'thumbs up' in future now that I know that some people are sensitive to that sort of thing.

I'm still none the clearer i'm afraid.

So any journalist who publishes the location of anyone in real time on Twitter can, sorry should have their account banned. All because Elon.

I'm not sure they'd be banned for a first offence, it depends on their prior history of rule-breaking.

Again, it isn't that complicated is it? Why are you asking me for clarification on twitter rules?

Is that a serious question? The US President has millions spent on his personal safety and has the Secret Service protecting him lol
Are you suggesting the richest man alive can't afford a top-tier security detail?

Either way, information is made public through various agencies and crowdsourcing so surely your anger should be directed at them rather than some randomer on Twitter (especially as i can still track his and other celebs/public figure planes using various flight trackers)?

Up the Musk-back-pedalling-hypocritical-free-speech!

even if it took some lunatic jumping on a car with Elon's kid in it for the change to occur
You mean ‘some alleged lunatic allegedly jumping on a car’ surely. The video shows no crime being committed and certainly doesn’t appear to show anyone jumping on a car.

Or do we believe male billionaires without evidence?

Because its ridiculous and will only be selectively used to suit Elon. Its just one more example of him acting like a dictator and Twitter is his state. He even called it doxing when he knows it isn't.

Go back to your initial post from our interaction, your 1st assumption should be very apparent, even for you. (if you are still struggling I'll even spell it out for you, 2nd line and the assumption is that I haven't been critical of musk). If you still act dumb and 'cant see it', well we're done I suppose.

Offensive? Not at all, I find it a bit sad.

Yes quite

Why would that be me? It's some antifa weirdo stalking him who ended up following his baby son.

Don't ******* tag me either.
It's not Antifa, its that weird ex head of trust and safety, the guy that wants to let kids on grindr :D
