Companies like Nvidia have development roadmaps that stretch ahead years. Nothing about this story suggests that the 4000-series generation will be any shorter than its predecessors (2 years). It'd be more of a surprise if Nvidia wasn't already hard at work on the 5000-series.

Relax it's only been 2 months and 9 days since 4000 series launch.

If you read the article it says Nvidia confirmed the release of their next arch i.e 5000 series, For 2024, Likely a late Summer or early Autumn release, This isn't a surprise as Nvidia has stated before they want a 2 year release cadence between architectures.

AMD, Apple, Intel, Nvidia, Samsung, Qualcomm and many other micro architecture developers have multiple architectures in development at any 1 time.

I'm guessing design work for the 6000 series is underway, so the real question is whether or not they have started work on the 7000 series? My vote is on yes.

From what I've read around the place micro architecture companies at any 1 time have 3 future architectures in varying stages of development.

2023 will be when 5000 series is finalised and for the first 3 quarters of 2024 it will be polished for release in either late Q3 or early Q4 2024.

6000 series will likely be in early development for a 2026 release with 7000 series being in the concept stage on track for a 2028 release.

In other news, desperate Tech News Unsubstantiated Rumour sites & Amateur Hour YouTube channels, seeing a dramatic drop in clicks/views now that the new GPU's are out there, turn to the next big click bait rumour mill...

Since these are very preliminary rumblings, this post is very much a rumor so keep that grain of salt handy.

Dude, I take keep a grain of salt handy for every post that comes out of wtftech.

Still amuses me anyone takes them seriously.

Hopefully the 5000 series gets us back on track similar to how Ampere did after Turings poor sales.

Other than the 4090 to say the 4000 is underwhelming is an understatement.
