I've got a 980ti I have been wanting to upgrade from when 3080 come out but as we all know mining took over and couldn't get anything I then thought id wait to see what NVidia had to offer with 4000 series but the price was silly I was going to get 7900 xtx but they all sold out in mins I then was going to get 7900 xt but reviews are not very good on them what would people suggest?
I mostly play Warzone 2 and have 1440p 165hz monitor so want to get close to that any suggestions?

If you are buying a GPU to play Warzone 2, I would recommend an AMD GPU since they are the fastest in that title.

What CPU you are using and what is your budget for a GPU?

If the 7900XTX was available, it would make more sense than the XT for those that can afford it; but since the XTX are no longer available, the XT out of everything out there at the moment still seem to be the best bang for bucks.

The XTX is around up to 15% faster at 15% cost over the XT, so performance per cost both cards are actually quite similar:

was thinking about getting 4080 fe but power cable putting me off a bit and i hear they might have a price cut soon
Yeah. I wouldn't buy a 4080 right now. If it does get a price cut, it might be more attractive.

What's your PSU? And are you prepared to upgrade alongside getting a new GPU? The 980Ti was a 250W card, if I remember, so moving to one of the chunkier new cards may need an upgrade. I'd also check whether there's space in your case - older cases may well have drive bays and the like in configurations that might not work for a 4080 (or similar).

Ryzen 5600x and I guess around £1000 as i was thinking of buy 7900 xtx
Decent CPU. What settings will you be planning to use in Warzone 2? I ask as the 7900 XTX is so fast in this game, no CPU is able to drive enough FPS to keep it pegged at 99% utilisation at 1080P/1440P using competitive settings. Neither the 13900K nor my tuned 7950X are fast enough. Going to need a Ryzen 7000 series with VCache to drive a 7900 XTX in this game to truly unlock the full potential of the XTX in Warzone 2.

Either the XT or an XTX would be decent choices. If you can stretch to get the XTX, I would since its a decent chunk faster. When funds allow, you'll want to upgrade your CPU too, even a 5800X3D would be better suited to the XT/XTX.

Here are some performance figures from my testing at 1440P competitive and extreme settings, running on a 7950X and a 7900 XTX.

1440P Competitive

1440P Extreme Settings

As you mentioned a 4080, here's a 1440P max and min settings video for a comparison.

Would definitely go AMD

Do they have the same chart with Max Quality? Never understood the Basic Quality charts, no point at all unless you’re one of those competitive pro-gamers.
These are the settings most people use as it’s a competitive shooter and every FPS counts.
