Car purchase gone wrong…. No.2

Negative review posted.

Car was re-advertised on their site three days later, for £5,990, £500 more than I bought it for - and is now presumably sold again. Nice double bubble for those robbing folk.

Good luck to the new owner.

Wow. So you definitely won't link to them or give us a google clue? :)

Well their job is to turn cars at a profit, the electrical issues sound like a headache but at the same time it could have been an easy fix.

Mechanically wise any car over 4 years old won't be perfect. It's always a gamble when out of warranty and with consumables like brakes, clutch, etc...

I really don't want to dox myself, if someone can find it then fair enough, but I don't want to put either myself or them on the firing line/make it Googleable.

I've posted what I feel is a fair and accurate assessment of the situation, so hopefully others can use it to make a fair judgement of the company.

Sorry, I'd like to post it here - but feel it's not fair on all parties.

Their job is supposedly to not follow the law either, but suppose we'll let them off since it's all in the name of profit.

It’s not fair on any potential customers. It’s stupidly fair on the garage.

Not only have this shambles of a garage ripped you off, you’re basically defending them by not naming them. Ridiculous.

I know your a fan of asking personal information but linking this thread to the actual garage unnecessarily exposes the OP. He has left a review where it matters.

Where's the OCUK detectives at? This should be easy... off you go lads.

It's more for my own details not being out in the universe than anything else.

Are you suggesting by me posting their details here will protect potential customers? They're a one off car dealership, who I've now reviewed online, I'm not defending them by not putting their details OCUK?

I know it's more for everyone's curiosity but if, for whatever reason it is found, I'd appreciate it not being shared publicly.

Cheers, thought I was going a bit crazy, yeah I really don't need that to be honest.

If it does get leaked I'll just delete the original review, it's not like I'm getting that £600 back.

You have absolutely no obligation to leave a review or mention who it is. Plenty of people have bad experiences and don't leave reviews.

I find it funny that people on here asking you to do it, on a forum where you can't openly/publicly discuss issues about the shop or forum

where is the most credible place to leave/read reviews - trusted reviews / google / facebook / garage itself ... suppose I'd pick Autotrader, seems likely to be least curatable.

tbh to the op im going through sought of similar with daughters new to her new car . car was more than double the ops. but the garage again miles away seem to be fair and have taken the issues we have raised and seem prepared to pay out for rectification. even to the degree of paying my labour to sort some out. doesnt make it any better and despite the fact she could have returned the car , she actually likes it .i have gone down a list of minor electrical gremlins and bad trim problems and i feel i have probably saved the garage about 1200 pounds in parts and labour , but its jobs i would have done for customers so quite enjoy them. if they are fair with us i will be fair with them simple, sometimes garages can make mistakes ....sometimes they can just be plonkers , what goes around comes around:)

Don't be silly, garage will have taken that out first and chucked some half dead brick from out the back in it.

And drained the tank. I don't think I've ever bought a car that wasn't running on fumes when I picked it up.
