A few years ago I built a 3700x with a 5700XT and, while I've been pleased with the performance for the price (the gpu was about 60% of the price of anything equivalent from nvidia at the time) it was only after I built it that I found all the posts and reddit threads etc about the instability of the GPU.
I get great benchmark results for the spec, can't complain but wow do I get a lot of crashes. Despite all the driver updates since, it's still unstable. Certain things really trigger it, like cutscenes in games, or if I pause a game and then the screensaver comes on (I know, right?). Actual performance while I'm playing is great.
But, I swore I'd never buy a radeon again. Is it safe to? Are the new models stable?
