Pretty much make it up every timeI have a feeling you didn't actually chance it yourself![]()
Lol, so the consensus so far is anything from 3 points and £100 to 6 points and £1600.
Cheers
I'll just wait it out and see what happens, first time I've ever been stopped so hopefully they take pity on me![]()
If he's been pulled over though, a FPN would have to be there and then wouldn't it? I didn't think a road side stop could lead to a postal FPN, so if it wasn't offered and accepted roadside, it's off to court he goes?I'm going to go a bit different. I believe you're well within the zone to just get a 3pts/£100 fine. A summons to court for a 30mph limit would not normally happen until 50mph. 35-42mph the option of a speed awareness court, 43-50mph 3pts/£100 fine, 50mph+ court summons
BanWhat is the potential/recommended for 96 in a 50?
I know it's changed around my area, the whole FPN thing is gone now and been replaced by TORs (traffic offence reports). Basically a police officer fills it in at the roadside and simply sends it off to a Central Ticket Office. In the CTO, they check the driver's history on the computer (ie. if they've had a SAC in the last 3 years), and if not and the speed is within SAC territory (42mph and below) a SAC is offered. If he's been pulled over though, a FPN would have to be there and then wouldn't it? They have 6 months to lay papers with the court. The court then can take as long as they like.....Looks like it still needs to be submitted to the court within 6 months https://www.drivingdefences.co.uk/summons-time-limit/#:~:text=Summons Time Limit, intended prosecution at the roadside.
Although reading that it looks like as long as it's been submitted by then then they can notify you whenever.
Yep, TORs are a new one on me but if so, bar the copper telling him it's going to the courts (which could be just to panic him for a few weeks), then sounds like perhaps there's still a chance he'll get away with a 3pt/£100 FPN.Hopefully that made sense?
If in doubt, Flat outWhat is the potential/recommended for 96 in a 50?
If in doubt, Flat out
Or is that something else??
I got done at the same speed in '06 - went to court repped myself (at 18, within 6 months of passing) and walked about with a 28 day ban, 0 points and no retake.Pfft I got done at 54 in a 30.
6 points and a big fine.
I reckon you'll be getting the same.
Can confirm
Pretty much, it's not unknown for police officer's to not know the thresholds. Never say never but I'm very confident that the OP should be expecting 3pts £100 fine conditional offer.Yep, TORs are a new one on me but if so, bar the copper telling him it's going to the courts (which could be just to panic him for a few weeks), then sounds like perhaps there's still a chance he'll get away with a 3pt/£100 FPN.
