Sorry about the other threads and this on top, I was going to delete them but can't! :(

I've built up the 2 similar specs, 1 Intel, 1 AMD, the only indecision is the possibly use the intel build with the graphics card from the AMD build.

Looking at a 1440p gaming setup that'll do some stuff at 4K if I ever go that route but focusing on 1440P with no sacrifice in LOD:

The only possibly changing point other than the graphics cards would really be are the Motherboards (WiFi needed for now) or PSUs be overkill? Is 850W enough for best to go big to eliminate any possible issues.

I'm liking the idea of the AMD Graphics card more from what I've seen, but happy to be proven wrong or basically be told they'll both do the same thing! :D

No more posts about this, I promise! :p

definitely wanting to go pre-built rather than DIY?

100%, don't find any enjoyment in building right now, working 48 hours a week and starting a business on top of that, so I want to be able to use it to game while doing the night job at home and just want to recieve it, pop Win 11 on and away I go :)

For games only, the AMD build is just better (the XTX is in a higher performance class than the 4070 Ti, except RTX), though the 7700/7700X is usually a better choice, which would price them more closely.

for £3k I would want to see how the 7000X3D chips do first before spending any of my hard earned money
I would hazard a guess at 7800X3D + 7900XTX...this would where I would put my money at

The above builds are a bit off...I definitely would not pay Asus tax on the cooler, and would pick a better PSU and a cheaper case to offset the above
Would also pick a 1TB 850X SSD rather than the 770 for a boot drive
And going with the AMD build, a good B650 board is sufficient...no need to spend the extra for X670, and would opt for 6000C30 memory rather than anything slower

tl;dr: would I pick any of the above? hell no.

I'd say games is the only demading thing it'll be doing, would be looking at either a 1440p, 1080p and 4k screen (1440p for gaming due to the positioning of the 4k unless its a controller based game that the PC wold handle.

Card wise i'd stick with the 7900, if that much is going on the system it may as well go that bit further!

Anything in the AMD build stand out as needing changing otherwise or all good?

:D happy to see a full spec of what you'd go for if you have the time :)

the 7000X3D chips are due next week

but my proposed £3k spec would be:
7800X3D
Mid-high end B650 board
Arctic liquid freezer 2 360mm
32GB (2x16) DDR5 6000C30
7900XTX
1000w PSU - decent brand with 7-10 year warranty
1TB WD SN850X boot drive
2TB WD SN770 media drive
+ some random case that can hold the AIO

Appreciated, i'll have a look over it tonight!

Wonder how long it'd be till the X3D chips are available on the prebuilds though?

if i was to build a PC today with roughly £3000 to spend on parts then i would get something along these lines.

I'll give them a call tomorrow, very handy!

Interested to hear how you get on as I'm thinking of doing the same. I remember seeing a thread a little while back where somebody had got a quote and the amount they charged for the build seemed very reasonable.

Definitely waiting on the 7900X3D myself.
