Do you plan on keeping the card for a new system? I personally wouldn't want to go any higher than a GTX 1660 Super or RTX 2060, which would still be a big upgrade on what you have.

Lol phew was just about to push the buy button....user benchmark is suggesting a nividia gtx 1080 ti ? i have no clue just recently got back into pc gaming

You can't buy a new 1080 Ti anymore. The RX 6600 & RTX 2060 perform similar to a GTX 1080 (non-Ti). A 1660 Super is a sizeable chunk slower, more similar to a 3050.

yes why .....you've got me in a panic now ...seemed reasonable

:o A 2060 is worth around £250, since it performs similar to a RX 6600 which is also £250. Right now, you can get a RTX 2060 12GB (including delivery) for £250 (can't tell you where, forum rules).

The (2060) Super version is a bit faster, around a 3060 12GB and these are £330-£350.

For £400 you can buy a 6700 XT (or almost a 3060 Ti), which are both faster than a 2080 Super.

In other words, if you definitely want an nvidia card, I'd cancel your order, buy a 3060 12GB and pocket the difference.

@Tetras Thank you, yep only ever had nvidia cards rather stick with that and yes i will cancel the order and get a 3060 12gb , and thanks again really appreciate the info :)

Hi Tetras...just wanted to double check that the 3060 12gb is compatible with my current motherboard gigabyte GA-268X-UD4-B3 {Shes old like me} Thx in advance.

If you use this link and scroll down to "User benchmarks for this motherboard", you'll see profiles of other people that have your motherboard and the graphics card that they used.

If you find a 3060 profile and click on it, it will tell you: the bios date of the motherboard and the manufacturer of the graphics card.

From having a look myself, I don't think you'll have a problem, but it might be worth checking if you have a UEFI or legacy install (for your Windows installation), since this information might be needed if you have any issues.

Go with an RDNA based card if possible. Nvidia GPU performance can be pretty poor unless paired with very highend CPU’s.

I’d probably go with an RX-6700XT at current prices.

I'm going to be honest here... your cpu is going to bottleneck most modern cards imo. My old 4790k actually bottlenecked my 1060 6gb...I saw significant gains when I upgraded to my 5950x and used the same 1060 6gb with it, it was a bit surprising considering how 'well regarded' the 4790k is/was..

Don't want to sound harsh but if you've bought the 2060 super you've pretty much wasted money on a card you're not going to get full performance from imo...

Also side note... if you're not running an ssd, sata will be fine, I would recommend you spend some of the budget on that because going from a hard drive to a sata ssd was one of the best upgrades I have ever done on a pc.
