In the last couple weeks Twitter has done something so that tweetsbthat are age restricted are blocked from the embedding so if you post one on any forum anywhere the tweet will be invisible. Twitter only lets you view the tweets on its website after you have logged in

What's really ******* annoying is that since Musk fired almost all the twitter moderators, they just apply rules en masse and it has results in craploads of non sensitive tweets getting age blocked

Western weapons manufacturers break out the good champagne every time the Russians and the Chinese show off a new toy which looks to match or exceed current US/NATO capability as they know the Pentagon will be waving a big bag of cash soon.

Thanks for the explanation, I was wondering why some posts were invisible, not even a URL for some.
 
My Firefox never embeds tweets and never has. All I get is the url. I believe it is some security setting or other that haven't been able to find. It's a real pita when someone embeds three twitter links in a single post and is then immediately quoted. I end up with acres of empty screen real estate and have to scroll until my hand falls off.

Incorrect. I've noticed over the last couple of weeks that some Twitter embeds aren't working when I'm keeping tabs on the latest news in this thread. I'm using Chrome on Android. Something is definitely up with Twitter.

Trying to open the links with the Twitter app simply causes the app to open then close itself.

(Reuters) - The head of Russia's Wagner mercenary group appeared on Sunday to ditch plans to withdraw his forces from Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine after receiving promises overnight that they would get all the arms needed to capture the devastated city.

Also had an issue embedding a Twitter link for the first time last weekend I think it was.
 
If there was less twitter nonsense posted here and more reliable sources, I would be pretty pleased.

The only person I have ever put on ignore on ocuk is a prolific poster of worthless twitter nonsense. It's just annoying.
 
The twitter thing has been happening for me for a while on/off tbh, on different browsers on different devices. I just assumed it was the embeds being throttled by twitter somehow to make you click the link to drive more traffic to the main website. A good chunk of the time the issue can be solved for me by just reloading the page, or coming back to it later.
