You guys must realise Biden isn't even trying to get a peace deal, one that would be good for Ukraine as well as Russia, he's not interested. He doesn't give a **** about inflation and food prices, let alone the thousands of dead soldiers and civilians on both sides, he's happy for the war to carry on because it weakens Russia and that's what the people in charge of America want.

You are trolling us now aren't you? I know you seem to like a strong man just like Trump, the authoritarian is something that appeals to you. However Trump achieved the square route of **** all with North Korea other than that photo and his love letters with that psychopathic dictator.

No one gets to dictate to Ukraine that they have to give up their land and people, not Biden, not anyone. If they want to fight for their country and culture that is on them and we should fully back them in this as long as they want to fight. The $ price is an absolute bargain, for a tiny fraction of the yearly defence budget, Russian personal and hardware have been decimated and their persona of a world super power shown to nothing but hot air.

I do wonder why you are so desperate for Ukraine to be thrown under the bus.

Thing with dictatorships is, its all fine until it very suddenly isn't. Dictators fear their own population more than anyone else, they all know history and how when dictatorships end they end very badly for the dictator. There is nothing special about Russia other than its been under one form of dictatorship or another for the last few hundred years.

Lack of reporting from other areas of the front suggests this is just ukraine taking advantage of a localised opportunity. However this could in fact cascade into wider action throughout the front. Russian forces seem a little spooked. Might make sense to take advantage of this.

Anyone could end the war in 24 hours. The question is on what terms and would it create more problems than it solved

Only Trump is stupid enough to think he could bring about a lasting peace by “ending” the war in 24 hours, and I question your judgment for quoting it.

What is Russia’s endgame in all this? Do they still want the whole of the Ukraine or would they happy if they got to keep the areas they have already seized?

Unfortunately I think your spot on, especially if - God forbid - Trump gets back in and withdraws their support, just makes you wonder how the nation that ironically with the help of the Russians defeated Hitler could potentially hand the Russian equivalent of Hitler (arguably) the reason to extend his conquest of territories just as was Hitlers aim….
