This is true.
However whilst I think there could well be a similar movement I dont think that applies to Trump, hes known now
I think it would however potentially apply to another Trumplike, ie non political "big beast"
I know Musk cannot run, but a Musk type individual I could see doing well running on a more reasonable, more real world type of platform that Trump did
However I cannot see them winning, they would need to basically dislodge the Trump vote to them and you just know Trump will full on toys out of the pram when(if) he fails in his bid.
 
If true (which I'm suspicious of believing from Poland) then Germany is never going to do anything about it, only one option really if a message needs sending.

Just to clarify - Thats a slighly misleading bit of info but its understandable as the media has been saying it a lot as thats based on some bad info within the Wiki article with the 'evidence' linked to an RAF weapons PDF which doesn't exist anymore. In reality it's a simple misunderstanding based around what most people may know from the Tomahawk Missile, where a sensor within the missile (usually radar) is used to create a 3D "map" of the terrain infront the missile and then compare the map to a database within the missiles computer.

However Stormshadow doesn't actually actively "map" anything and it does something different instead, using a passive system which can't be detected/jammed etc. Basically the missile's route is pre-planned with a series of waypoints which are compared to the IN/GPS location being reported by the missile during flight, so the missile knows where it is and where its going. Then it uses a built-in rad-alt to detect its own height directly above the terrain (combined with GPS height) which it then compares to a terrain height database stored within the Missiles Main Computer (this software is called TERPROM) so now it knows where it is, how high it is and finally how high the terrain is around it and it's done all of this passively without being detected, unlike a Tomahawk with its radar system.

This same type of system is now used by most 4th Gen western military aircraft under the name GPWS or Ground Proximity Warning System to prevent aircraft flying too low and crashing into terrain.

The last time I played with Stormshadow was during the 2011 Libya campaign where I ended up on temporary loan to 13 Sqn down at Marham* doing Stormshadow functional checks before the pilots arrived to fly their missions, one of whom is currently my boss in another "its a small world" coincidence now neither of us is still in the military any more.

*I was on 617 Sqn up in Lossiemouth but they were in Afghan at the time and I couldn't go as I had just finished rehab for a knackered knee.

One of my former colleagues coded one of the missile systems for terrain reading and mentioned it had to stay above a certain speed in order to get enough data. I cannot remember which system this was though. This was around 13 years ago though.

I posted about this in depth yesterday #65376 Both left and right German party members and Schroder himself as the guest of honour were at the Victory Day celebrations in the Russian Embassy in Berlin on Tuesday, drinking champagne and eating caviar. I also said it had been suggested the EU's and Germany's sanction breaking by buying Russian oil via third parties was brokered by Schroder on the QT. Not everyone hates Russia and others pretend to whilst sanction busting away.

Yeah, Trump said he wants to end the war and would do so within a day. Biden of course is happy to throw money at Ukrainians in order to advance the long term strategic goal of a weakened Russian state, then there's only China left.

He has and he makes these statements that are gross simplifications to complex situations often.

Personally I cannot see a way he could achieve it anyway.
I mean what can he do or say to make both those parties (and potentially the rest of Europe) concede to his will?

He could say hes puling all US support. That doesnt stop the rest of Europe and Ukraine themselves from saying we will fight on. Even if thats a doomed scenario.
He could threaten Russia, but that would need to be some threat, realistically full blown nuclear and even that they may simply call his bluff.

They are probably his most extreme positions to take and neither actually end anything.
I suppose nuking most of Europe, Russia and the US could be argued to have brought it to a close.

Which we all know he will not, and cannot, actually do. So let's not even pretend that's a viable policy, or that it suggests Trump has a solution to the problem.

I believe Biden primarily wants to advance the long term strategic goal of a strong Ukrainian state, which is good for the West and good for Ukraine. Weakening Russia is just a side benefit, and it's nice for us that supporting Ukraine offers a safe, highly efficient method of accomplishing this.

I want to see Russia crushed so badly, she has to beg counterfeit vodka from Shanghai bootleggers with a ready supply of ethylene glycol and antifreeze.

Russia has been actively working against the US for years, like trying to get its friends to drop the petro dollar etc. US sentiment in some sectors believe a fight is coming internally so it pays Russia to fan the flame there. We need a strong US leader again, and the pathetic toxic bickering to end that harms the US overall. At the end of the day it's affecting the potential for Ukrainian support.
 
Peace is apparently impossible, then Trump shows up shaking hands with Kim Jong-un inside North Korea.

You guys must realise Biden isn't even trying to get a peace deal, one that would be good for Ukraine as well as Russia, he's not interested. He doesn't give a **** about inflation and food prices, let alone the thousands of dead soldiers and civilians on both sides, he's happy for the war to carry on because it weakens Russia and that's what the people in charge of America want.
