EV owner for 1 DAY and already angry at some people :D

Get to work earlier, steal their spot.
Luckily at a petrol station people move once they've finished filling the tank.
Man, people take up a pump to go and do their M&S food shop for the week. You are living in luxury right there.

Sounds coincidentally like where I work.
If it's corporate then just ring security, they'll usually deal with this under parking / site behaviours.

Meanwhile I've been having an issue charging my Mitsubishi at work. Its been fine for a while but this week some guy in an EV keeps eyeballing me so I don't feel safe hanging around to plug in / disconnect.

Lol men go full Karen when it comes to parking at work..makes me sick a little in my mouth.

How evil a look is he giving you that you don’t feel safe!!

If its a free one, or a cheap one, and its available, I dont see why a PHEV driver shouldnt use one.My next PHEV has the potential of 70 miles on a charge, so very usable day to day.

Don't get me started on parking... the number of times I go to the effort of parking my pickup out the way in a nearly empty car park to find someone has squeezed in beside it... I have to wonder if they aren't doing it to be a dick sometimes.

Except the difference is that there are probably ten or more other pumps and they turn people around in five minutes :p

Charge it at home then to stop people who have no choice being forced to wait.

Tbh though Rroff, sometimes when I see a lad parking a mission away I know he is a top bloke and just want to be brothers in arms. A bloke in an older E Class and I used to park within an inch of each other. We never met each other, but "we knew" :)

Surely the same could be said for Mr EV. Cheap charging should be open to all of the public not just the ones who chose the wrong car to save on the BIK :p

OP stated employer is charging well below consumer market size per kWh. Maybe make a choice rather than bisexualising your car :p  :D

People just have to accept that if they go EV they can sometimes make their life just that bit more complicated.
Still, saving the planet eh. I shall wish you luck in your car park scrum for some cheap electricity tomorrow.

It is still selfish to charge to 100%, especially in a PHEV and in the only working bay. It seems to me (as a non electric owner) that life as a Tesla owner would be much better then other EVs when doing motorway miles.

Anyone driving a PHEV has zero business at a public charging point.

PHEV mileage is no more or less important than yours  who'd be a PHEV owner eh, people moan when you don't charge them and people moan when you do, can't win :D

If a public charging spot is reasonable priced, limit to about 40p, I'll use it, and I'll charge to 100, because small ass battery. :p though its fair to say that last 10% takes and age and i'll often move the car when it starts slow charging.

I have no issue with PHEVs charging but some of the owners do seem a bit ignorant.

I stayed in a hotel a few weeks ago with chargers - a 330e arrived at the same time as I did and the driver left it plugged in blocking one of the two chargers for 48 hours without moving which is just ridiculous when it was probably full after about 4.

It looks like a lot of posters have not noticed that the PHEV did not plug in. Had they plugged in it’s just tough luck on the OP. But we all know they were using the EV bay as a parking spot.

I do sense a lot of battery only EV owners have some weird sense that they should have priority charging over PHEVs. It’s first come first serve and similarly if the person in the charger ahead of you insists on charging from 5% - 100%, then that is their right.

All these different public charger etiquette rules are nonsense apart from.

• life is too short to let petty crap ruin your day.

It's much less of a problem now as chargers are more expensive and there are more of then.

When you're in an EV with limited range, and have to charge to get home - any vehicle using the charger you need is a problem.
