Far less eventful club social on saturday (after several punctures and a wrecked bike last week). I had a good legs and the weather was GLORIOUS! Hilly route and was nice to boss it, smooshing any climbs I wanted and the legs just kept going. Bounce back into form for me and a bit of a 'leg finder' as felt I was starting to plateau a bit. Including cramping last Tuesday while Zwifting (been months or maybe even a few years since I properly cramped). But putting that down to hydration as didn't sweat much and with a
short sprint race followed by
a hilly iTT I'd gone all in on the Sprints first race to bag points... So hopefully that's me working back into an upwards curve, just in time for a jolly out to The Tumble in a couple of weekends time!
Wednesdays ride reminded me that as much as I like the quality of my Rivello bib shorts... they really don't suit me in the seat area!
Any recommendations for bib shorts up to £70 max and must be from Wiggle (as I have a voucher

) would be gratefully received!
I've got Altura and DHB bib tights that I get on OK with. Altura Endurance Bib Shorts seem like a possible (I can live with the £2 over budget... just

) but I'm pretty much picking blind. I also like Endura stuff but have only used their MTB shorts and jerseys.
DHB are ok, but many years since I rode them, Altura always been a similar level to them. Would say to look at Endura as have several friends who rate them (FS260) and would consider them better quality than the other 2. But going that £70 price range I'd also consider Sportful or Castelli if you can find the right colour & size combo also in stock (site is a nightmare). Maybe even the Endura Pro SL. They've got some Le Col around that price too (just out of stock).
But if I was spending £75 on shorts I'd be getting them elsewhere than Wiggle, probably more Rapha Core, although they've not been in a sale for a while and now £110 (not worth it, but at 75-80 they are).
Did we ever get beyond curiously asking about a OCUK ride out? Lost a lot of motivation recently and having something like to look forward to would help get the miles in.
We didn't! Someone put some dates & ideas in!
I've got no Sportives or such planned. Must be some local ones I can prob find dates for, several brewery supported one around here. Probably up for almost anything which is in a reasonable couple of hours from me (a bit rubbish as I'm over an hour from the M5 south of Birmingham)! Can't do end of July. Can only do weekends & unlikely to do a nights stay somewhere!
Does anyone own either series? I am really keen for the climb mode as living in the chilterns there are a lot of hills. Anyone have views of touch screen or not? Many thanks
Wahoo every time for me now. I've owned 3 previous Garmin head units, none of them lasted 2 years before being worthy of the bin (500, 800, 810). Support was dire/non-existant. Bought the first Wahoo head unit, the ELEMNT, on a bit of a whim. It was cheaper than 2 of my previous garmin head units and thought I'd not get on with it not having a touchscreen and it being driven by an app on my phone. Converted within a week of using it. Has out lasted all my Garmin head units combined. Bought on 30/12/2016 and still going strong! Not without it's own quirks and issues, but they're far less than any of the Garmins I've owned. It still gets updates and new features even now and although I'd like a colour or bigger screen at times, have no need to change or upgrade it anytime soon.
I’ve made a big mistake guys … I’m on Strava. I used to listen to my mate complain about the cheats and I can see why now
Going to end up having to try and get some KoMs around here later in the summer when I hopefully have a bit more fitness.
Add some of us and get yourself in the OCUK club! Don't know how much
@touch is riding anymore but he's admin. Think anyone can join though?

A chat amongst a group with both Garmin and Wahoo recently, we kind of landed on maybe Garmin has slightly better features, maybe Wahoo is slightly more reliable.
Sounds about right. Garmin tend to innovate, break it multiple times over several iterations, drop it, then bring it back, then the others copy and make it reliable and standard.
(which will save my running OutdoorActive on my phone to provide tracking).
Worth noting I'm unsure what the tracking is like on Wahoo, haven't seen anything about it but not a function I use ('LiveTrack'). There used to be something on there so you could 'see' other Wahoo users related to it, but it needed the smartphone app active so expect LiveTrack the same. I never ride with my app open on my phone as zonks the phone battery! Hardly ever sync mine to my phone app to be honest, little head unit happily uploads its rides to Strava/Komoot/TP/RWGPS/Google Fit directly most of the time...!
