I dunno like... I've been on the receiving end of 82mm mortars, I definitely remember a distinct whistle prior to impact, not a slow whistle just a short high pitched screach almost, its not the sort of sound you forget! I also wasnt suggesting the round was going supersonic, I was talking about the relationship between the firing point and the arc of the round before it lands which will shorten the time between crump and bang. In my admittedly non expert opinion it sounds too small of an impact to be 125mm as well. That wasn't a mortar round - they dont go supersonic and no whistle, you can literally watch them in flight
edit:
also, only the `press` bloke in in a vest and hat, the others are not. If i was to hazard a guess, i would say it was something 125mm based
All for a city the size of Luton. Maybe we could have just given them Luton insteadHead of Wagner, Prighozin says that over 20 thousand Wagner soldiers have been killed to date in Bakhmut
We're used to these big numbers now but they really are astonishing compared to recent conflicts. For example total U.S military deaths are just over 7 thousand for the gulf war, afghan war, Iraq war and Syria, all combined
And these are just Wagner losses, that 20 thousand dead doesn't even include the losses from the Russian army, or the two breakaway regions, or the Chechens

Head of Russian private army Wagner says more than 20,000 of his troops died in Bakhmut battle
The head of the Russian private army Wagner says his force lost more than 20,000 men in the drawn-out battle for the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut. About half that number were Russian convicts recruited to fight in the 15-month-old war. The figure was in stark contrast with claims from...apnews.com
My experience comes from 81mm L16 , and we never used anything supersonic
Because they are a deeply corrupt country, that allows the police to do things like kill street kids on a whim. Why is Brazil like this?

Either that or age and time is getting the better of me.
I have been close to impacts of 82, 81, 120 mortars, 107mm rockets (horrible sound), 105 and 155. But never anything 125mm or any tank round for that matter... just dosnt seem right though.
Its more about influencers rather than proper support. What I find even more fascinating is how the right wing often support Russia. Nuts.
Wow, I didn't realise Dundee was quite that bad!
Can they carry out that threat? i very much doubt it.Update to this story

Putin spokesman says Russia will “liberate” Belarus if its people rise up against Lukashenko
Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov says Russia will intervene in the event of a popular armed uprising in Belarus to overthrow the regime of its self-proclaimed president, Alexander Lukashenko.www.pravda.com.ua
As far as I'm concerned I only think this has happened because Putin has something big on trump probably his Russian debt keeping him under his thumb.
You know what "BRICS" stands for right? Why is Brazil like this?
