You'd have a support unit for it (tanks don't just operate alone), potentially with the ability to generate it from solar as well as probably diesel generators :s maybe even portable mini reactors though that raises some issues. (You could even have steam powered generators allowing you to burn stuff in the field in an emergency).

Imagine the torque and acceleration though. Plus, quiet.

Simplifies the mechanical side of an armoured vehicle, likely has benefits for amphibious operation, you can probably have a maintenance vehicle which can swap out the entire power pack and/or modular power packs so you aren't spending time refuelling, etc. there are a lot of benefits.

Russian strategic aviation comms active - but there is a lot of Russian government/military air traffic operating routine stuff and maintenance, etc. so may or may not be an indication of strikes tonight.

Re the Ivan Khurs

'Russian propagandists use an old photo of the ship Ivan Khurs to claim that the ship has not been damaged by the Ukrainian naval drones

Several Ukrainian analysts suggest that the Crimea smoke screen could have been a distraction to allow the Ivan Khurs to come back discretely to Sevastopol yesterday (unannounced training BTW)'

No idea if there is any verified news on it.

Interesting that some people think Prighozin is on a bit of a charm offensive and wants to be the next Russian leader. Personally I think he's more likely to end up dead.

Fair to say you can't take anything with Prighozin at face value. One possibility is he has been enabled to operate somewhat outside of Russian "law" so that Putin can do stuff without having to worry about that aspect and/or so as to enable momentum towards changing laws slowly.

It's interesting that he's not already. He's been critical of the war, the Russian leadership and military, yet he's still breathing.

Weird thing in Russia - you can be critical of Putin and say he isn't doing enough of something and get away with it, say he is failing at something and it is a very different story.

Yes of course that will work.

"Hey Vlad, any signs of those new electric tanks"?

"Not sure Vasily, but I did see a 1000 acre solar farm moving slowly behind something"

Solar panels are relatively light and you can stack a good few on a truck - sure they'd make a relatively easy target. A lot of the time behind the frontlines things move relatively slowly and as per my post it would be a blend of options not reliant on one thing.
