It's too hot :(

@Richie @aVdub do you have any stats on the improvements to climate change since we all got the green, brown, purple and blue wheelie bins?

Only stats I can find

Wales Government Report

The report concludes the move combined with the achievement of the recycling target, which Wales is well on course to meet, would result in an additional annual saving of nearly 86,000 tonnes CO2 equivalent.

This is the same amount of CO2 produced by a car travelling for a staggering 290million miles. The same distance as 1,200 trips to the moon.

The report also suggests recycling just 20% more waste would result in a 47% increase in climate change benefits.

originally spec'd 4.6 duvet isn't cutting it - where is the brexit effect. (e: needs to be brexited ? a verb)

In fairness, China has a massive population. The fairer way to display this would be CO2 per person:

CO₂ emissions in metric tons per capita

Qatar - 35.59
Bahrain - 26.66
Kuwait - 24.97
Trinidad and Tobago - 23.68
Brunei Darussalam - 23.53
United Arab Emirates - 21.79
New Caledonia - 19.1
Saudi Arabia - 18.7
Oman - 17.92
Australia - 15.09
Mongolia - 15.03

Suddenly, the Middle East is the biggest problem with China and USA not in the top 10.
Also China are one of the biggest solar producers in the world now and they're investing heavily in that sort of technology - so they are trying.

Or America or Germany.....

Top 10 polluters
  • China, with more than 10,065 million tons of CO2 released.
  • United States, with 5,416 million tons of CO2.
  • India, with 2,654 million tons of CO2.
  • Russia, with 1,711 million tons of CO2.
  • Japan, 1,162 million tons of CO2.
  • Germany, 759 million tons of CO2.
  • Iran, 720 million tons of CO2.
Remember. China only. Puts out so much pollution because we in the west buy that tat.

When attributing emissions to countries it shouldn't be done on what's produced on home soil. An attempt should be made to adjust for what we contribute as buyers of thier products.

We claim to recycle loads. But send it offshore.
We claim to be low polluters.. But import loads of manufactured goods.

Sounds like dodgy accounting to me.

I'd say the western world invented the way it's calculated to skew results in their favour.

Another lovely day much fresher hazy cloud humidity has gone probably 20c tops

Supposed to be hotting up tomorrow though could get close to 30c not looking forward to that

Everything is UK govt is actively encouraging north sea gas and even onshore gas exploration. None of it gets sold here it goes on the international market where prices for gas are high and profits end up directly into Oil companies accounts and govt tax revenue. Because its sold overseas the govt can claim its cutting greenhouse emissions (which is true for *here* but untrue globablly). Its the govt equivalent of creative accounting.

Very glad I am not one of the poor devil's tarmacing the road around the corner. They look like they are dying.

Must remember to taunt my roofer mate about the "lovely sunshine".
