2024/5 M5 Touring....Finally

Since owning my M5, and having to get rid of it because kids, dogs, bikes and lots of European travel doesn't lend well to a saloon, I had to settle for a povo S6 Avant and latterly a Discovery 5.

Since the E61 era, I've thought BMW had made a heinous error in judgement by not realising the market demands for a Touring model.

Finally, the G99 looks to be coming in Touring format so shut up BMW and take my money....

Yes. And I have to accept, it's the natural progression. People grew to love the E60, with a few exceptions.

E60 is still, in my opinion a terrible looking car

Oh I dunno, compared to some of BMW’s current models it’s actually quite a looker!

Agreed. The only saving grace was that M5 engine.

isn't it i5 ? pure electric maybe the sweeter spot - the mercedes hybrids with the engine + bigger batteries are weighty, full electric, little more

The bonnet looks rather ugly but it has lost the hideous snout grill which is a good thing. Apart from the bonnet, I thought it looks ok

I too have softened to the E60’s looks in light of BMWs recent creations.

That hardly even looks like a traditional Alpina.

Mad price for that. I'd ague a standard/sport 5 estate looks better.

E60 is still a munter. F10 was near enough back to perfection and the G30 too although rarely see G30's on the road. I guess everyone is in SUV's now.

BMW are just on a streak of making all their current cars look horrendous, I think the G30 is a gorgeous looking car and one of BMWs nicer looking cars they've done for a while, Same with the G20, lovely looking cars.

I really hate what they've done with the new 5, that's just not right.

The new M2 looks like someone's poor attempt at a car mod on GTA V.

Need for speed underground is now 20 years old. Those kids have now grown up, got jobs at BMW and created that. Basically blame EA

No one bought the E61 M5, so it isn't really surprising that BMW haven't bothered since. The E28 M5 estate didn't exactly sell well either. Audi stopped selling the RS6 saloon for much the same reasons.

E61 M5 will/is going to be a collectors car imo, that's if people stop converting them to manuals
