Sun cream alternatives?

Use a proper Sun cream. Get one that specifically is non greasy. Probably best to look for a kids one if you are not liking the normal ones.
 
No-one mentioned mustard yet? I am disappoint.

On a serious note, use the skin of your enemies. Flay it off them and wear it like a second skin. Literally.

Or use sun cream.
 
Summer trousers, light weight shirt with full length arms and a hat
You could also just dress like an arab

I just sunbathe for like 45 minutes each side for the first session of the year, then build it up, 1 hour next time etc.

After about a week, like for example today after this spell, you will build up a tan and you can pretty much stay outside for hours on end.

I been out in the garden sunbathing from about half 10 till about 4pm.

Don't get burned and no suncream.

Yup probably going to get skin cancer.
 
I’m probably going to get skin cancer as got loads of moles (thanks mum) and can’t wear strappy tops anymore as got badly sunburnt. Any sun on my shoulders itches.

Got a couple of questionable moles which i will mention when I see a GP next week for a medication review

I am in Italy at the moment and it’s roasting. I looked at this stuff but because i hasn’t heard off it I opted for p20 spf 30.

It’s not all spf either you need to look at the star rating too .
 
Use better sun cream.

I use nothing but this. Found long ago to avoid "Creams" and go for Gels. They soak in and leave no residue, definitely not greasy.

What it is:

There is no such thing as a safe tan. The increase in skin pigment, called melanin, which causes the tan color change in your skin is a sign of damage.

Why it happens:

Once skin is exposed to UV radiation, it increases the production of melanin in an attempt to protect the skin from further damage. Melanin is the same pigment that colors your hair, eyes, and skin. The increase in melanin may cause your skin tone to darken over the next 48 hours.

Symptoms:

Skin tones that are capable of developing a tan, typically skin types II through V, will probably darken in tone within two days.

Education about the sun and it's damage is pretty crap in this country. People see the sun comes out and take off all their clothes :p but if you look at all the other countries that gets lots of sun, they cover up, they wear long sleeves, they use an umbrella for shade.

I remember in the summer, the weather report at night will warm people to avoid going outside between say 11am to 3pm during the summer due to the heat and sun. Nobody would purposely go get a tan, getting a tan is not a sign of being healthy. In fact, it's actually a class divide. That you have to work outside, like a construction worker or delivery driver etc as opposed to lawyers etc who are in an office, inside. Having a tan is seen as being less than. They have some weird beliefs but the point is, tan is not good.
