What cars do you miss, I want to be back in 2006

Cars were better than anyway, early / mid 2000. The reliability and design was there, but they were not over engineered and stacked with tons of needless electronics.

Yea mid 90s to mid 00s I think was the best era. Some are saying those may be THE last classics, as cars are turning more and more in to phone-like disposable goods.

Hi All,

Just wondered what cars do people miss the most that they've owned in the past, for me it was these two

Fiat Couple 20v Turbo, hopeless around corners but epic in a straight line :)
3.0 BMW Z4, went through rear springs like sweets but so much fun!

Let's see 'em and when you owned them?

Cheers

Mine will be two,

First, a 3.0 Z4, gunmetal grey with the same wheels (which rot like mad)....but just a really great all round car. Handles brilliantly once you get some decent rubber on like PS2s. Great sound, great engine, comfy and quiet on motorways too, never a fault on mine.

Second, a silver Smart Roadster Brabus Coupe. Hunk of junk really, leaked like a sieve in the rain, gearbox was rubbish, but a really memorable car, had character! You had to work the gearbox to have fun with it, but it handled great, quite tail happy in the wet but easy to drive on and over the limit.

My newest car is 2005. Haha.

I really miss my 1998 Nissan Primera GT however. Ended up breaking it as the rust got to it. I easily have the skill set to fix something like that now but it was time to move on to something bigger.

Lots of OEM+ bits like the clear rear tail lights, mudflaps, Primera UK badge, R33 GTR Steering wheel, JDM quad headlights.

90's Saloons were just epic. The MK2 Mondeo, Peugeot 405/406, Vauxhall Cavalier/Vectra B, Honda Accord, Nissan Primera, Volvo S40 just all have really good proportions compared to 90% of rubbish on the road these days. Oh boy how far we have fallen as a civilisation.

I have to go back to 1967 when i bought this second hand and at the time its was up there.
1965 Mk3 Ford Zodiac Executive - Auto all leather (that is real connelly hide) in black and single front seats. It didn't have all the gizmos todays cars have but it was a nice car to drive. -Did 16 MPG.
I scrapped it when it was 8 yrs old and had rusted through eveywhere.
Picture is scan from a photo.

My car now is a Ford and at 13 yrs old it has one small bit of rust on one wing.

I miss this one. Owned it 2010-2014..
I love the widebody and the squat from this angle. Best colour combo too (perhaps other than some of the M-only colours).

It may be the morphine talking, but I still really miss my ‘87 Mk2 XR2. Ford Crystal blue, I was 17 and it was the best thing ever. It had a different key for every door and a terrible keypad immobiliser thing on the dash, but it sounded incredible and went like stink. I loved that wee car.

Newest car I've ever owned was from 2006. Currently my newest car is my sti from 2005. Other than a gold Ford KA, I miss all the cars I've owned. They have all been interesting and good in there own way. I feel like now will be the peak of my car ownership and it will only stay the same or go down from here

XR2 !!! - I remeber the last one i saw was on M6 just before Junc where you turn off for M54.
Outside lane was closed so long queue in first two lanes and XR2 came bombing along on outside lane -sitting there I could see blokes getting out of their cars and when I got there this XR2 had tried to get in a small gap with the result car he jumped in front off rammed him into car ahead and that went into car ahead of him.
When I went past the XR2 driver was banging his head on steering wheel and I had a big grin.
