The Manchester United Club Thread **Sponsored by Comedy Central**

The correct outcome but probably arrived at the wrong way. The wording of his departure is a bit open ended - I wonder whether he goes out on loan and then returns to the club.

I do wonder whether part of Utd's reluctance to bin Greenwood could be linked to the accusations made against Antony. Utd have now set a precedent for this sort of thing and if the reports are true and Antony's ex-wife follows through with her complaint are Utd now going to have to suspend Antony while an investigation is on going and will they then ditch him?
If he's left the club then we can't send him out on loan? He'd have to re-sign with us in order for that to happen unless I'm missing something?

I think this is the best result really. The issue I had was that if he stayed at Utd he'd have been paid his wages, if the club 'fired' him he'd be entitled to the rest of his wages. I think a lot of people wouldn't have thought it right for MG to get these wages. I didn't consider that the club and MG would agree a mutual separation which I guess means he forgoes his wages?

Wrong decision IF he is still the prospect that we thought prior to the incident that set this all off. There are no goals in this team. If Hojlund turns out to be a Weghorst 2.0 then we're not getting close to top 4.

You can't judge this based on his football ability, that is irrelevant. Although that is clearly the only reason this has taken so long.

They've not said he's left though, they've said that he will 'recommence his career elsewhere'. They're announcing he's leaving without saying how which leaves open the prospect that he could just leave on loan.

Actually you are quite right. They've said mutual agreement as if it's a contract termination, but actually it's very vague.

So yes, likely a loan then.

Indeed, very carefully worded to not actually say anything specific like his contract has been terminated - just that his future will be away from OT.

I suspect loans into countries where people don't care so much about this sort of thing to at least cover off the cost of his wages until he eventually sees out his contract (or someone is keen enough to buy him, which is probably not particularly likely just yet)

His own girlfriend took him back. Would the same people that would criticise the club also hold her to the same standard? No they wouldn't.

So yeah, I'm judging it on football ability alone.

You are showing no comprehension of the situation tbh. You just sound like a bitter fan who is angry at losing a player

Such a shame about how someone realised what he had until it was too late. He easily had the potential to become one of England's greatest players. Haven't seen someone able to use both feet like he did since prime RVP.

Richard Arnold has released an open letter to the fans:

- The alleged victim requested the police to drop their investigation in April 2022.
- We were provided with alternative explanations for the audio recording, which was a short excerpt from a much longer recording, and for the images posted online.
- The alleged victim's family participated in the process and were given the opportunity to review and correct our factual findings.

So they were definitely going to try and explain away the audio recording, weren't they...
