The Wagner forces who went to Belarus only had light trucks and small arms, they do seem to have been separated from a lot of their heavier gear.

This might not have been Putins order. Wagner was a Kremlin controlled organisation that Putin had wrestled away from Kremlin control by funding them through the state with funds returning to Putin. Something definitely isn’t adding up in all this.
