Ukrainian's SBU is claiming a huge success in attacking the Kursk airfield, remains to be seen if those wild claims are legit

SBU claims to have launched 16 drones and 13 achieved direct hits on targets, targets hit include:

* Four SU-30 Jets
* One Mig-29 Jet
* One S-300 Radar system
* Two Pantsir system launchers

That's $280 million in damage plus however much an S-300 radar station costs, I can't find the cost of that

That is outstanding. I’m not sure how much S300 radar would be exactly, but 10’s of millions.

Looks like Ukraine will receive M26 rockets for HIMARS

These rockets only have half the range of GMLRS, so it's more of a risk to HIMARS launchers using them as the launchers have to get closer to the front, but the good thing on the other side is the US has a near infinite supply of M26 rockets and each rockets carries 600 cluster munitions rated for penetrating 72mm of armour

Information a bit sketchy but sounds like quite a lot of cruise missiles launched by Russia at targets in the south and south east of Ukraine tonight - probably to try and take some pressure off where Ukraine is counter attacking.

5kg payload, very small, but still useful if your targets is something explosive as it doesn't take much to ignite fuel or ammunition

I take it there used for more of distraction not much of a payload.
You don't need much of a payload to take out things like aircraft, fuel tanks or ammo dumps, also "cardboard" can be pretty strong and lighter than many other materials meaning the same size drone might carry more of a payload.

I suspect the main thing though is that they can be made cheaper and in larger numbers and thus you can send out multiple ones that are even harder than normal drones to spot with things like radar.

Cardboard reflects radar very poorly, so small, cheap, hard to detect and more than capable of taking out soft targets like planes on the ground.

Send some trucks to Ukraine lol

The US marines are busy building small mobile trucks that carry Tomahawk cruise missiles, each truck carries 4 missiles and each unit of marines will have 5 trucks for 20 missiles and they can be launched from anywhere where you can offload a truck

Think of it like HIMARS, but instead of launching 50-300km range missiles you're launching 1500km range missiles

The version of the Tomahawk these trucks carry is the Block V, with GPS and terrain mapping tracking, carrying 1000lb warhead and missiles can hit targets on land and at sea

Later on these trucks will also be able to launch SM-6 missiles for air defence

This entire concept is designed to make China **** it's pants - there are hundreds of little islands all over that part of the world where you can offload and hide these trucks and then launch copious amounts of missiles at the Chinese navy

The issue is it’s a drain on airfield defenses. Worse of it’s dropping chaff too out of the front drone - almost like these are paper doodlebugs..

Ah even more cluster munitions. Well and truly legitimised now....
