Looks like Ukraine will receive M26 rockets for HIMARS

These rockets only have half the range of GMLRS, so it's more of a risk to HIMARS launchers using them as the launchers have to get closer to the front, but the good thing on the other side is the US has a near infinite supply of M26 rockets and each rockets carries 600 cluster munitions rated for penetrating 72mm of armour

Hopefully the Russians just leave Ukraines territory and then they won’t get killed en masse by these things. Either way it’s win win for the US.

Supposedly so far ukraine has taken 3% of the US military budget..
If it was 30%, it would still be an utter bargain to
And has crippled Russia for generations, the generals of the Cold War must be laughing their heads off at the cost effectiveness.

An absolute bargain. No US casualties and a good amount of the ordinance supplied was reaching the end of its shelf life anyway. Flying it into Poland and getting it trucked in Ukraine was probably less expensive than safely disposing of said items in the USA.

Imagine the embarassment of having your asset taken out by a paper plane.
Putin: What is the plan to deal with this Nazi superweapon?
Shoigu: Don't worry boss, they're useless in the rain, once the summer ends they will be of no threat and we will have taken Kiev long before next summer!
Putin: Excellent, all going to plan.
Gerasimov: Guys I just read on twi- I mean X that Elon Musk is sending A0 size laminators to Ukraine.
Putin: Mother of god....

Ah even more cluster munitions, not that it matters now as Russia has been using them and other 'banned' weapons on civilians in Ukraine and Syria and as a result they well and truly legitimised them. I'm glad I called Russia out when they used them in Syria because I like to take the moral high ground and I got my chips down early.....

Fixed.

Shame some members of the republican party seem to think otherwise. I do worry, the longer this goes on that US and some allies get distracted.

Ukraine using there own super missile
Shock as the country that developed all the USSR's best surface to surface/sea missiles is better at developing surface to surface missiles than the country that can't even maintain it's Ukrainian ICBMs properly :p

*EDIT*

For reference, Ukraine dismantled it's missile production/development industry and scrapped it's missiles 10+ years ago, at the behest of the USA who were looking to score buddy points with Putin. They have had nearly a decade now to rebuild so it's not surprising if they are starting to see results, especially as they were hardly starting from zero.

That would be Carrier Strike group 12, consistently of 2 Cruisers (Ticonderoga class), 6 Destroyers (all Arleigh-Burke), unknown amount of Submarines, plus a Carrier Wing of Super Hornets, Growlers, etc. Some fine amount of US tax dollars for sure.

Being picky, theres only 1 Tico (USS Normandy), the rest are DDG`s Flight 2a (which are better anyway). The Navy want to start retiring the remaining Tico`s within the next 4 years, they are all over 30 years old now, and will be replaced by the Flight 3 Arelight Burkes.

What do you mean? The US Navy has 17 Ticonderoga Class (CG) Guided-Missile Cruisers, they aren't Guided-Missile Destroyers.

Attached to this specific carrier strike group - although that only 1 has been seen doesn't mean there aren't more. For various reasons cruisers seem to be being phased out for frigates and destroyers in many navies.

For any interest, i was trained on the MLRS with the M26 round, we called it the square mile removal service, and used it extensively on Granby. It literally is the best for `troops in the open fire for effect`
I still find it comical how they disbanded 39RA, then spent the next 8-9 years trying to un-**** the mess when they realised their big plan didnt work. Deep Precision fires is so vital in the modern age. Saying that, I think they are on the right path now with 1DRS

5kg payload, very small, but still useful if your targets is something explosive as it doesn't take much to ignite fuel or ammunition
Doesn't even have to be something explosive. 2kg explosives and some ball bearings/other shrapnel stuffed into a plastic tube. Drop a few of those amongst parked aircraft and they're ******.

The `powers that be` , seemed to think low level ops in the sand box was the way forward, and in 2015 they couldnt imagine another ground war in europe, even though they were warned by the teams at legoland.
