If they submitted this video to their insurance company I don't think it looks good for them.
  1. No indication during lane changes.
  2. Not indicating their intent to carry on past the exist.
  3. In the wrong lane
  4. Not following the Highway Code
  5. Not driving with due care and attention.
Ultimately the driver of the other car will possibly get some blame but it has at least 50% blame on the OP.

You were in the wrong lane. I totally expected you to be going off down that slip road.

the voice commentary says 'we'll go the other way' too, if that meant turn right instead, it's a bit self-incriminating,
as you hadn't acted on that with your road positioning on the roundabout.

Going back to where you entered the roundabout, the road markings clearly show that both lanes go straight over, I really can't understand how can think going right from the left lane whilst not indicating, past a two-lane exit, is not your fault?

The same could be said of the other driver :)

505/50 is my guess.
True but you can anticipate that people are going to do either manoeuvre, I'd say it's more likely that someone is going to turn left in the right lane than it is someone in left lane cutting across and going right, although both do happen often.

Regardless of who is technically correct, it was entirely avoidable by being in the right hand lane in the first place. Cutting across, especially at and exit/entry points is not wise.

Also, checking mirrors before changing lanes is wise, especially in that scenario. Admittedly the other driver could have anticipated it also, but you can only control what you can...

With regards to insurance I reckon the OP may get away with it, at the end of the day the other car drove into the side of him. Regardless of what the other driver has/hasn't done you can't just go ramming them out of the way (As nice as it would sometimes be).

Source: I had a very similar accident after filtering through some lights on my bike and it was deemed 100% my fault.

This is not me saying the OP was in the right position and doesn't have anything to learn from this though before someone jumps on me.

Unless some of us are professional crash investigators we are all guessing. So your guess is as good as mine.

Thanks for the replies, I assume “admiral” being a major car insurer. Will see what happens.
I can neither confirm nor deny that the insurer I worked for was located anywhere in the locale of St Davids Shopping Centre or CIA :p though they also aren't the only major insurer in S Wales or in Cardiff for that matter ;)

Ok, watched it. You might get away with a shared blame if you are lucky, but that incident was your fault.

If I had tried your move on a bicycle for example, I would fully expect to be in hospital right now :D

It's poorly designed, but I would be expecting you to turn left there. That doesn't absolve the other driver of blame for just cutting across like that.
