Moving from Nvidia make sure he uninstalls all drivers, ddu is a free software to clear old drivers.

absolutely no issue with the 5700XT I had or my current 5600 XT
There were people on here who got shot of them because they could never resolve the black/green screen issues, it was pretty common at the time. If later cards/driver updates solved the issue, I don't know, but I haven't heard much about it since RDNA 2 launched.

There really should be zero need to do this unless you run in to issues, it can actually cause more issues than it solves. I'd recommend to simply install the gpu, then install AMD drivers and done, you can always uninstall the other one later.
 
He got a nvme for Windows etc. Tbh i don't see any difference really on my 1tb nvme for games loading times

I see this get mentioned a lot but its really not necessary. When i ran a system that had both nvidia and amd graphics cards I had to keep both drivers installed otherwise the card which didnt have drivers installed would not work properly.
