The Manchester United Club Thread **Sponsored by Comedy Central**

I just think the warning signs were already there last season in the latter stages. Once we wont the Carabao Cup, our form dropped off a cliff and we were lucky to get top 4, when in reality, we should have secured it ages before we did, and we definitely should have been at least in the final of the Europa League

I think he should get time, we can't afford to ditch him so soon, there's no point. But I hopped off the ETH hype train after how the season ended and him seemingly looking a bit lost tactically at times.

Need to let the players come back first. Our side is thread bare at the moment. The amount of games we played last season has obviously had an impact.

Martinez is out till after Christmas as he has just had surgery.

People need to be patient and put trust in ETH.

Hopefully Antony will be back for champions league and AWB and Shaw cannot be far behind now.

Varane will break again soon, then we'll be in for fun times.

As it's been dominating this thread for a long time now, I've moved a load of recent posts regarding Utd's ownership into a new thread here. As I mention in the OP of that thread, please remember that all the usual rules apply in there too, that means no spoilers! Any rants about the owners in the immediate aftermath of games should remain in the match day threads.

Some positives from the game last night but some absolute howlers also.
It's been a bit like that this season. First half had intensity but was slightly chaotic which I think comes from a team with Mount, Bruno, Hannibal and Amrabat who are all high energy players who want to get about the pitch and progress play. It worked for a while but only yielded one goal which we promptly surrendered as per the pattern. I still don't think we have the right on field leadership. Bruno is too emotional and overplays when the game needs a degree of control. Can't fault his effort or example but he doesn't seem to have grip. Varane is too quiet, Casemiro for all his expereince also seems quite reserved. I think we miss a fit Martinez for his play and his influence. Second lacked cohesion and exposed the holes in midfield. Eriksen on to sit seemed to give licence to Casemiro to roam, Mount to roam more and before you know it we had no defensive cover, especially as Amrabat doesn't really know how to play left back.

For a supposed technocrat manager, ten Hag tolerates a lot of chaos when most decent teams are able to revert to a shape and discipline in their play. Liverpool vs Spurs with 9 men was a classic example. You know that if that happens to us Bruno will still be trying to win the game and we will end up losing 7-0 again. At least we know we have a young striker who knows where the goal is.

I'm very excited about Hojlund

And I woke up trying to be positive about the whole situation, and we have a run of games, other than City and Newcastle, coming up where we should get some results and build some confidence back

I bloody hope so anyway as I'm going to the Copenhagen game in a couple of weeks and I don't want to watch more of what we saw last night :D

What's generated revenue got to do with the money they take out? The lack of investment in facilities, the training grounds... yadda, yadda, yadda...

You have to give it to the Glazers. United are still a massive draw despite a decade in the wilderness. I do often wonder how big and wealthy United would be now if we had good owners for the past 20 odd years. I think the club is very much doing well in spite of the Glazers rather than due to any of their efforts. Even commercially.

No doubt people have seen the Garnacho situation, he tweeted an image of himself, Onana & Maguire celebrating - with 2 gorilla emojis. Obviously not the wisest thing to do, but I very much doubt it was meant in a derogatory way.

It's since been deleted. Onana has tweeted the following:

Hopefully it won't be taken further by the FA.
Really hope common sense is applied here. Some comms people have a word with Garnacho and we all get on with our lives.

Read that earlier and my estimations of Onana as a person have risen massively.
