Mortgage Rate Rises

You'd have to establish whose land the fence is actually on. so get a surveyor in.

Like has been said, there's no legal requirement to maintain fences. we have respected the "right-hand side" thing here even if it's screwed us over with our 12 panels or whatever it is, whereas either side has 3. plus side, don't moan about me not cutting the hedge… it's not my side.

Nonesense. The drawings are to like a 3 meter tolerance.

Even if you own the responsibility there is no law to have a fence or something. A piece of string is sufficient.

Your house might have been built to a 3-meter tolerance, I'm glad mine wasn't, on a new build you could be half a house out.

point is, if you really have a dispute over who owns what, you need a surveyor, well a solicitor who will employ one. things like fences trees and hedges might not be on land titles, your plot size and land boundaries will be and even then things can be complicated.

Just got a letter through from YBS because our mortgage expires on 31st Dec. If we do nothing we will be moved onto their SVR....at 8.24%. I mean jesus christ.

That is standard practice SVR on mortgage is pretty much always terrible, you need to get a re-mortgage done.
and doubly so now! I find it baffling that people get to a month out before looking into this you always want a new deal ready to go the day the fixed rate expires double so in these high rate times!

I doubt many people do. We have been looking for months on the back burner but since we have been looking, rates haven't got any worse and were always likely to get better if anything.

Its just shocking how much they get away with charging you when you fall onto their SVR.

Nothing in my deeds about who owns what fence. This is for a 1947 house.

At least I know I own the bottom one as it backs onto a brook!

On my 1900 house, it says on the deeds we own the left hand fence looking down the garden from the house, and it is on us to maintain it, it even states we can paint it any colour except black. Every one owns the left hand fence, except the one at the beginning of the row which also has a right hand fence to look after

Hysterical you've taken the time at 1am to go and put reactions to each of my posts, and reported it to mods for me calling you out for being wrong

I enjoy the mods having to put a change request in to remove my reaction button tho, that is very lol

Slow news day

TBH, you cant really take the high ground with this... You're goto move on here is to do similar (albeit at the time rather than retrospectively)

^ 200iq workaround. I'm not even sure what offended them, I laughed at the guy talking BS.

I don't report posts. what's hysterical is the deleted post was asking you a question, you didn't reply to the question but had time to emoji it, I just figured you liked then.

You "calling" BS would hold a lot more water if you actually added anything of worth, correct the post if you think it's wrong don't just insult and emoji bomb.

So again if you have a border dispute over who's responsibility a fence/wall/hedge is to repair/maintain how do you figure it out ?

Let me know when you're finished editing but this explains why you are wrong and why I laughed when you asserted you were still right.

How you proposed to solve the situation is a money pit for Karen's. The original drawings are a million miles from accurate and we're never intended to be.

How does that prove what I said is wrong ?

If you can't come to an informal agreement it ends up with surveyors and solicitors as the only recourse to a dispute.

This you?
yes, it was a joke, for someone who loves the laughing emoji I thought you might have figured it out.
