Is it worth getting a ps4 slim in 23/24?

I’m using both as I work away and the PS5 is hardly portable. Only tend to play COD but it’s a big difference between 4K HDR and 1080p. The game is just as enjoyable though.

What? Put the money towards the ps5…all ps4 games run on ps5.

I refuse to buy a PS5, just my opinion but they should be £299 or less over 3 years after release. Luckily the Xbox series X were very reasonable on the used market about 20 months back so i got one of those instead.

I must admit the cost is what put me off a PS5 initially, hence looking at PS4 Slim.

PS5 deals seem hard to come by, but I reckon due to Christmas prises will be high, hoping for a drop in the new year, otherwise will have to go for a secondhand PS4 slim.

A PS4 is still a decent buy if you're just looking for something to use casually. If you're looking to play some of the later PS4 titles or cross-gen releases it might be worth going for a PS4 Pro just for the added performance, but in reality it's not a huge difference in most games.

I still use my PS4 (Pro) regularly and haven't been tempted by a PS5 yet.

Mostly playing FIFA 23 myself and plan to play some of the first party titles in time. Will upgrade to the PS5 in a couple of years I think.

I love the SX, it’s a brilliant piece of design, looking at them internally they are really well thought out. I still prefer it to the design of my PS5 Slim, although the slim is better to my eye than the original. Just wish Microsoft hadn’t gone with a proprietary expansion card, they dropped the ball with that.

I got mine when MW3 was launched in a. deal from Amazon for £390. Would have bought COD anyway so £350 didn’t seem such a great amount. Well chuffed with it though.

I got a PS5 Slim Disk for £405 from EE….was priced wrong…Paid £20 upfront then they added it to my mobile bill at £35 per month for 11 months interest free…I won’t notice it…

Despite being swayed earlier to opt for ps5, reading here how many still use a ps4 (pro) I’m going to keep an eye out for a second hand ps4 pro option.

Agree with the many views as why ps5 is the way forward, but it won’t get much use and if it runs a the classics I think I’ll be happy and probably splash out on the ps5 in a couple of years.

I’d plump for the 5 just so I didn’t have to expose my hearing to the 4’s fans. Such poorly thought out cooling solution.
