How much does a pint of beer cost where you live?

I don't really drink much, certainly not in a 'going to the pub' sense. I'll drink cognac, good brandy or whisky at home occasionally but that's about it. My wife and I go to pub/restaurant type places for lunch occasionally, but that's in the context of ordering food and a round of drinks and just waving a card at the reader, so not something I make an effort to break down in my head.

Last time I consciously bought a pint with cash out of my pocket they'd put the prices up, and it shocked me that it was now £1.35. That was 20-odd years ago though.

I am the same, I hardly drink unless its Christmas\New years where I may have 1 or 2 beers on the evening, sometimes a case of beer can last me a good year or so lol.

Honestly no idea, don't really go out that much anymore and when I do I just wanna have a good time.

We've been to Lanzarote in Feb and Fuerteventura in Sept and as you say local beer is dirt cheap.

Spoons still does a pint just under £2 but locally it £5.50 - £6.00

I just bought two pints and a packet of crisps for *checks Apple wallet* … £14.15 at one of my locals. Generally if I’m buying two drinks and it’s under £15 these days I don't even blink and that’s including the west end around work. Sad times. Good job I’m not at the pub particularly often.

I don’t understand why crap lager is so expensive. A local (which we’ve sworn off going back to because it’s terrible) was trying to charge over £7 for a pint of Kronenburg? :confused:

There’s a bit about beer prices here. I’m guessing the 1% of pubs that charge £7 to £7.99 a pint are in London.

Most beers near me are about £5. Cambridge / Suffolk border.

However my favourite place to drink, which I rarely get to unfortunately, is in a village 3 miles away. They have an award from Timothy Taylor which given it's in Suffolk is quite something. Pints are £3.50.with an apology that they've gone up from £2.50. If a barrel hasn't sold out in 3 days the price drops to £1 a pint. On my last visit (a couple of months ago) I had 4 of the best quality pints for £6.50.

That said, if you ask for a coffee in this place she'll straight up tell you to **** off so unless you're there for the beer steer clear .

Back in the day there was a bar that would serve a Sunday evening pint for 35p. The caveat, which most people didnt know, was it was slops from the the Saturday night put through a strainer. I drank bottles.

A couple of weeks ago a Landlord played a trick on me, he bought the pint to me and when I went to buy the second pint it was Forge made by Conor McGregor.
