Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [12th - 22nd January 2024]

That Delot double yellow (which i think was correct...at the time) looks more baffling everyweek the way players are arguing with the referees.
Its one of the most peculiar refereeing decisions I've seen this season (amidst a season thats chock full of peculiar refereeing decisions)

The timing of the third goal was a gut punch, but it was coming and tbh we came out of the game with no injuries so that's a positive. Tbh I expected to get spanked 0-4 so I'll take the gutsy 2-3.

Only Murphy is due back this month.

Barnes probably mid feb and I doubt we see Willock the rest of the season :/

Edit and Wilson back this month

KDB back up to speed pretty swiftly then!

Arsenal 5 points off the top when they were expected to be challenging. Still a way to go but they seem to be regressing...

Entertaining game, disappointing result although I expected it to be worse. You know it’s going to be tough game when Bruno is booked so early. No complaints, play like that every week and we’ll win a lot of games. Can’t fault the player’s effort. I felt the Sunderland result was papering over the cracks a little bit but they looked so much better today than in recent weeks.

KDB though, something else isn’t he. He is always in space, I just don’t know how he does it. Makes the game look so easy.
Nice for city to be able to bring on a pair of match winners and leave Grealish on the bench mind, Newcastle had two goal keepers, two untested teenagers and a clearly unwanted Matt Ritchie on theirs.
