Wtf is this supposed to mean.

Your calling me deranged for suggesting Trump isnt going to do thing in the Wests best interest in regards to Putin?

Are you okay Efour?
"Lol if you bothered to delve below the surface for two seconds you would understand that he’s not interested in a true peace. Not one that benefits the west."

Was the quote.
Well explain your thinking. What's the west bests interest. I guess it's no more Russia? Explain? He's Putin's best friend it's such bs. The guys a moron but that's it. The USA is over in the next 20 years. They either win WW3 or go down in the history books as the 20th century empire. This ***** just another European sideshow.

Kick this war down the road 20 years. Putin will be dead, the west will be rearmed. I have no idea how long Whinnie the pooh has left to live but he'll want one crack at WW3 before he dies too.

President Trumps bs might even be the catalyst we Europe need to get out fingers our of our arses. Maybe it's all part of his big genius game.

The lesson of World War 2 is do not ignore an emerging threat or hope that you can spin your enemies off against each other. I hope we will not make the same mistake with Putin. While Putin's forces are tied up fighting the Ukrainians (who deserve our unwavering support) we should be rearming and deploying conventional forces along with tactical nuclear weapons to the Eastern European NATO member states. If Russia sees that NATO has powerful forces along their European border they will be deterred from attacking vulnerable NATO members. However, if we repeat the defence policy blunders of the 1920s and 30s (and Trump simultaneously removes US support from Eastern European NATO members) then we should expect serious Russian aggression.

I think there is far too high a chance we are going to make exactly the same mistake with Putin. We saw all the same fundamental short term thinking with the likes of COVID which resulted in a far higher cost in the longer run and a worse situation.

When describing 365,000 dead the word "only" may be relative to their population, however 365,000 is pretty much the size of the entire Russian army (not including officers and cadets) prior to the invasion.

It's one thing to say that they have more men they can send, but handing an AK to a greengrocer and a concert bassist then sending them to replace a pair of marines who were battle hardened in Chechnya and Syria and had years of experience in infantry tactics is not a like for like replacement. Russia has long since passed the point where they have lose so many soldiers that it's hampering their performance in a way not fixable with numbers, even their air force is feeling the burn as regardless of how many aircraft they have lost they are now short on experienced pilots to put in them.

Good news when it comes to any potential engagement with European countries which still have their professional armed forces, but Ukraine will to more or less degree be experiencing the same. In that respect they have the potential to drag Ukraine down with them, which is a significant part of what Putin wants.

Lithuania's Minister of Foreign Affairs spitting facts.

Listen to major world leaders speak, almost all of them say things like "we must help Ukraine not to lose" "we must give Ukraine what they need to not lose" "whatever it take for as long as it takes for Ukraine to not lose"

Until the language becomes "we must give Ukraine the equipment TO WIN" then it becomes difficult. Its 2 years in, and the West is still afraid of a Russian political collapse, they want the war to end in a draw, they do not want Ukraine to win and Russia to lose

That's why the war is no completely stagnant and neither side can launch a successful offensive. The war is playing out exactly as was intended by the West, to end up in a draw

I didn't say Trump's plan was good :P

However I doubt they would refuse, there's no way Zelenskyy and Putin would join forces to spite Trump.

They aren’t. They are both rejecting the plan because it’s not in their individual interests.

Zelenskyy isn’t going to agree to a deal that seeds land to Russia. Putin isn’t going to agree to a deal that means Russia giving up the land they have already taken.

There is no solution to the problem except a military one.

So Trump needs to back a side with weapons to the point they can win.

The fundamentals of the problem don’t change because Trumps is president.

First of all he needs to win election first and looks like he has a good chance to do it.

We already know what side Trump is on and it's not Ukraine's.

Maybe we can look forward to weapons and intelligence heading Moscow's way then. Whilst other US allies back Ukraine. Whilst the Chinese **** themselves with laughter.

Russian military thinking seems to largely be centred around the extremes of smaller scale counter-insurgency and large scale all out war with the West, they seem to have very little institutional think, let alone experience or training for something like Ukraine. Even now a favourite tactic is so called recon by combat where the theory is to use a small force to reveal enemy positions for mass artillery, while their mass artillery advantage isn't what it was and Ukraine long ago learnt to use a more surgical response.

The Russian military doesn't really seem to have any modern tactics. Their exercises are believed to be heavily scripted to impress the brass, not actually evolve fighting ability

Their artillery just fires off in to population centers in the hope of eventually hitting something useful.

Even in WW2 the allies had more advanced tactics.

And mass artillery in the modern age quickly leads to counter battery fire by missiles taking out your guns.

So far the funnist highlights have to be a GPS guided bomb being used to take out the top russian GPS jammer, the latest and greatest russian counter battery artillery radar being destroyed by artillery and the video of the multiple DJI drones slowly dismantling a drone jammer with about 5 grenades. At one point they basically land on the thing to try and get placement.
