I've noticed the likes of Stephen King and Ron Pearlman who left twitter for threads didnt last long and came crawling back to twitter not long after- props to Stephen Fry though, think he's probably the only one that actually stopped using twitter.

I can imagine the state of the average thread on Threads :cry:

You haven't understood what he was saying at all have you. The tit for tat name calling needs to stop from both sides. Do you honestly think Jamie Dimon, the pre-eminent financial guru of the west thinks it's ok for MAGA to abuse Dems, but not the other way round? Like seriously?

He's talking about the issues that people are voting for. Look at what's happening with the border at the moment? Perfect example.

who's ignoring who's concerns? if you've done any reading on the subject, it should be blatantly obvious the republicans want the issue to continue and don't want a solution until they can claim credit.

Trump is literally attmepting tp scuttle a border deal that would have addressed the problem, because he wants to keep it alive until he's back in the White House so he can blame the whole thing on Biden.

'Senate deal on border and Ukraine at risk of collapse as Trump calls it ‘meaningless’'.

If concerns are being ignored, why was this deal even proposed?

Secondly, I don't give a **** about the previous 7 years right now; I'm asking a question about the present. Tell me why you think Trump is trying to scuttle a border deal when it's the very thing you claim is being ignored but clearly isn't.

If you must insist on talking about the previous 7 years, explain why Trump didn't solve the problem during his time in office. After all, that's what he promised, remember? Along with the giant concrete-and-steel wall that he never built, which Mexico was supposed to pay for and didn't. Remember?

You don't care about the previous 7 years because it undermines your argument that it's the Dems that suddenly care about the issue. They stopped and blocked everything. He never built it because the funding was denied by Pelosi, remember the gov shutdown standoff, that was a big story at the time. Like i find it crazy how you can label it dishonest and in the next sentence literally lie about the situation for the previous 7 years. This issue has been front and centre for the past 7 years, only one party have wanted to create solutions and sort it, and the other party said no basically.

Who gives a **** who pays for it? The amount being asked is a drop in the ocean compared to the current fiscal spending.

I agree. I never complained about the amount. Hell, I never even complained about the proposal to build a wall. You can go back and check my posts in this forum.

This whole thread is a dumpster fire, hell we've just had a month or so with people arguing over the tesla cybertruck, ai in cars and now trump man bad (again), As to threads and its relevance, we had a certain number of posters (yourself being the 'commander in chief') proudly proclaim the end of twitter with the news of zuck's Threads launching last year and yet here we are 6 months later and twitter seems to be experiencing more users than ever whereas the twitterkiller is a forgotten afterthought.

But it's not enough. The company is still haemorrhaging money, and Musk has no idea how to plug the leaks. He's run out of ideas. That's why he's now handing out badges to anyone who asks for them, no matter how politically toxic.

Extra users mean nothing unless they're generating floods of revenue. Musk can talk about engagement metrics all he likes, but the bills are piling up.

Twitter bills when put alongside Elon Musk's wealth are pretty small though. He's basically paying for us all to have free speech. Twitter and the X platform will eventually become profitable.

Do we have any numbers for Threads vs X users?

The only thing I can dig up quickly is that Threads is currently the 5th most downloaded app, whilst X sits at 89th.

To be fair, most of the people that would want twitter have already got it (and in many cases are dumping it).

After 2016 and Russia working with Wikileaks and Trump surrogates to release information on Hilary, agencies rightly had to be over cautious that such tactics would be used again. That laptop passed through numerous hands, had been interfered with, Fox News wanted nothing to do with it as they saw it for what it was. And in the end it was a great big nothing burger as there is zero evidence Joe Biden did anything. In fact after months of hearings by this laughable committee there is still zero evidence Joe Biden profited in any way from anything and certainly no quid pro quo while he was in office.

The FBI is the most conservative agency in the US. Always been headed by Republicans, never a Democrat but you and the loons like Jim Jordan would have us believe its working with Democrats to elect Biden. You are a sucker for this conspiracy nonsense.
