Done it before where my friend was sitting behind me for the first half. Then noticed a couple of seats empty 2-3 rows down (presumably ticket holders didn’t turn up for one reason) so sat there in the second half.
 
I find I'm actually going the opposite way as I get older and I'd rather do something less fun in the company of others, than something I'd rather do but being alone.

I appreciate the odd pint in a pub on my own but if the offer of company is there, I'll take it.

If I've got something to do like diy or shopping, I'd rather do it alone to get it done quicker but I will always have a podcast on. I'm not a fan of the silence.

I do see a few at the local boozer, and i mean young lads that i see pop in for 1 or 2 then leave.

i was offered a job at Darlington, i would have had to move and the thought of been out there knowing nobody put me off.

Wouldn’t go out my way to drink/dine alone but done it plenty when away for work, never felt out if place, normally the waiters are chattier.
 
I wouldn't go drinking on my own but I do (and have done) a whole host of other things which, in the past, were probably considered a bit "odd" to do alone like cinema, restaurants, walks, holidays, theme parks & rides etc and I've never been bothered by it, nor noticed anyone else pointing out the "lonely weirdo" to others.

I've definitely noticed it becoming slightly more common now though for things like cinema and good food.
 
Done it when working away, in fact I always do it when working away! No point sitting in a hotel room so go out, grab a few beers, get a meal etc, doing it at home though, that would just feel odd for some reason.

Done all that, I even went to Disneyland by myself 20 years ago.

Cinema isn’t odd though, been going alone since I was a teenager. Never been bothered by it.

Before the pandemic I had limitless and as the cinema was right by my house I went 2 to 3 times a week.

At uni, I used to go once a week on a Monday or Wednesday when I had no lecture because it was like £1.20 a ticket. Since my friends all had classes, I might as well just go. I recall one time watching two films on the same day back to back.
