Anyone been to any of the Arcade Club's?

Well I was just watching the new Netflix show, Fool Me Once with Michelle Keegan and in the second episode she goes to the Arcade Club and I am pretty sure it’s the one in Bury I went to.
 
Group of friends and i are looking to make the journey up north and do a few days as it's quite the trek.

Think it's the Bury one we are considering too

Went on Monday to the bury one. Took the kids 6 and 11 we all loved it. Will be going again definitely. Only problem is it can get busy so you might have to wait if you want to play a specific game. The nostalgia was strong with this one and not a 2p push machine in sight.:)
 
Over a year since starting this thread, I finally managed to get down to Arcade Club Blackpool and I have to say, it was worth the wait!

The first thing you think to yourself when you walk up the stairs is oh my god where do I start!

We only managed to get there with 4 hours left before closing but they had to kick us out at 8PM closing time! They have an amazing selection of games such as Pong, Donkey Kong, The Simpsons, Time Crisis 2, Daytona USA, Outrun, Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat the list goes on and on. They even have modern arcade machines imported from Japan. I would say in the 4 hours I was there I managed to play 75% of the games and I didn't really spend longer than 10 minutes on any game in order to play as many as possible. If you went in at opening time you could really take your time and get the most out of your visit.

I would say about 95% of the machines were fully working. The 5% that weren't ranged from not switched on to the controls feeling a bit worn out. I don't say this to complain as I think having 95% of these old games running at one time is an impressive achievement.

The food was reasonably priced and was pretty decent.

It is the greatest arcade I have ever visited in my life by a country mile. If my 10 year old self would have seen arcade club I wouldn't believe my eyes.

I really want to visit the other two branches and I also have a craving for a CRT TV now.

10 out of 10 experience for anyone who likes arcade games. Amazing!

How did your kids get on with the machines? Especially the 6 year old. Did you take anything with you like a folding foot stool? First time I took my daughter, she probably was around that age and she couldn't reach the arcades mostly, and couldn't operate the games with wheel and pedals without our help. Luckily at the time we actually did take a folding foot stool which came in very handy. She's 8 now and I think when we go again, hopefully we can do soon, I'll be taking a foot stool again just in case!

My youngest did struggle with the driving games so he just say on my knee I did the pedals and he did the steering. The other arcade machines he just about reached but a folding stool would be a good idea.
To be honest the biggest problem was that my kids were overwhelmed lots of people, noisy lots of flashing lights etc took them a few hours to settle after that they were fine.
 
I've been to the Bury one shortly after it 1st opened and loved it. Such a great place and will be going back at some point.

Also went to Blackpool the other week and whilst it's not nearly as big as the Bury site it's still well worth the trip. Good pizza too (if a little greasy).

Just playing sit down Outrun was epic.
 
Update: Sorry for the lateness, i was ill after i got back from Milton Keynes for the week.. :o

Well The Pixel Bunker.. Its ok.. Not amazing.. A fair bit smaller than i had hoped and pretty steep at £15.50 for 3 hours, that said i dont think there was enough for me to play for a full 3 hours. Some great games but lacking a few, a few were damaged and not a great playing experience and some were off(Time Crisis 2:( ) The £32 for the combo wasnt great deal to be honest, we played a decent amount of games, walked round the Lego Exhibition and the Film and Scifi Museum (Some pretty cool production used props) within the 3 hours. We went for a walk to get some exercise and food after we finished and i am not a fan of MK to be fair. Just my opinion i guess.

For the money it was OK But i did expect the games that were available to be playable and not have issues with the screens/joysticks but i did say the same about Arcade Club.

Its nowhere near as good as arcade club but worth it for a local ish visit. I was gutted Operation Wolf was out of action last time I went but hey. Still plenty to play.

That's a shame it didn't impress you that much. I am not long back from my second visit to Arcade Club Blackpool and it was excellent again. There was only one machine that was not working during my visit. If you are a fan of light gun games they have quite a few, Time Crisis 2, Operation Wolf and the sequel Operation Thunderbolt, Point Blank, Mission Impossible Arcade, Luigi's Mansion, A zombie shooter I can't remember the name of and the really weird Elevator Action Invasion where the actual elevator doors open and close in front of you.
