Impressive at Bodmin now for Cornwall, Retail parks has instavolt and Ionity hubs in now.

Instavolt at 2.4m wide spaces are barely fit for purpose though frankly.

I’m not sure how Instavolt will compete when charging 89p and installing 160kw chargers. I’m pretty sure you’ll only get 160kw on an 800V car and it will be slower with a 400V car due to current limitations on the cable.

Every man and their dog has a deal with Ionity these days, it’s only 65p on Electroverse where as Instavolt is 78p.

It’s a bit like Tesla and Osprey at Banbury…

Had a test drive today in the new MG3 hybrid with 197bhp. Pleasantly surprised with its acceleration and comfort. This will be a replacement to my electric Seat MII which has to go back. Most likely will stick with this new MG3 for the next 4 years until there is stability in the EV world.

2 Teslas on the list, X and S, lot of audis and bmws.
He tells you the worst of a few specific class cars as well
BMW i8 was the worst overall.
Mix of engine/gearbox and suspension problems across the cars with some costing £30k to fix

I could never understand lists like that because it is pretty obvious that a car with a bespoke drivetrain is the most needy. Whereas Skoda or say Dacia which use improvements of previous generation tech are really reliable because they have millions of miles of data to go from.

Then on the flipside people bemoan Japanese manufacturers because the clock came from the 1990's and their engines are dull but bullet proof because of simplicity.

They’ll be V4 (open) Tesla superchargers at Gloucester also shortly. They are fully constructed and waiting to be powered up.

This post aged well - 8 stalls on north and south bound services now open.

A bit expensive for non Tesla owners/subscribers during peak times.

61p and 71p between 4-8pm.

Tesla/subscriber price : 45p/55p (4-8pm again).

This seems to be the standard price at MSA’s these days, non MSA sites are cheaper.

We signed up for the 'trial' last year. It's the only way to get a supported product currently. It unfortunately will probably be the last of it's kind, as Chademo isn't going to be around forever. £1500 for charger and installation. Needed a charger anyway as we decided to get a 40kwh Leaf a few months ago after 5 years with a 24kwh version. Not aware of any limitations yet!

The trial is organised by a company called Indra, and I've got a login to allow me to control the charger via a web portal. On there I can automate how it behaves with a schedule, or override it completely. The unit itself has a boost button on it so it can charge the car at 50kw if needed.

You'd have to consider who is buying this insurance and on what type of car.

Can't find a link that shows the full list, it's all top 10. Only one I found with more into is one from 2020.

I'd take the same conclusion from it... And my own experience. Though sometimes they reduce the quality to cut costs over time.

I think I would stick to a car in warranty or a very common model and make. Ice have same issue to a lesser existent. Between Brexit and lockdown the supply chain hasn't recovered. New models and new tech and new brands are going to be more effected.

I remember insurance soared in 80s hot hatchbacks until they started putting decent locks and immobilizers in them.

Ive just paid 1900 on a 2006 1.3 yaris to be fair its for someone who hasnt driven for 7 years so no NCD. Insurance co's are royally screwing us right now. The whole system needs a reset, the repair costs are inflated, parts costs are inflated, car hire costs are inflated.
