Fence Quote

The issue is the neighbours here... They need spoken with and then, if it continues, other measures would be done to discourage them from doing so i.e. fneces, hedge, stones as damaging their vehicle(s) soon encourages better behaviour (when I say damaged vehicles, I mean them hitting said fence/hedge/rocks, not the OP vandalising them)
This. @LeeUK have you spoken to them and asked them not to drive over your garden?

Oh we need pics of this! Have you spoken to them?

Up here work on £80-120 pm for the 1.8m and around £50-70 pm for the 900mm (dug out to the correct depths, x2 postfix per post on the 1.8m). Its a days work. They may have to get the breaker out to deal with the concrete from the pin curbs. Although looking roughly where the boundary is you should be ok.
Those pins dont look like they are the boundary btw. I would say that is 150mm+ to the left of the picture, if we are saying they have a 900mm gate. If you are going with the 1.8m fence without telling them make sure either the outer face of the posts or if you are giving them the good side, the fence boards to run down the correct boundary line. I think I would just plant the front up to deter them driving over the land.

Was quoted £1100 for x4 concrete posts
didn't understand if his quote was stormproof concrete or wood - had to have some wooden ones replaced circa 8years.

Place I'm in has a 10 year, from new, covenant preventing changing front of the house that may include fences

Yep the boundery is in a bit from those pin curbs, the posts will run directly in line with the orginal post which is there from my side and next doors gate. I will be having the good side on the neighbours side as that is how the fence runs all the way back down my back garden, e.g. the good side is on the left hand side of everyone's garden on the estate.

The 1.8m is only being brought forward about three quarters the lengh of the gavel bit (to the end of the roughcast on the house as it wraps around the side) then the 900mm running to the end.

Have you checked covenants lee? Ask your conveyancer. It's rare you are allowed fences at the front of these new builds.

Doesn't really say anything plus like I posted earlier, the other Persimmon new build estate is covered in extra fences.

That doesn't need a fence. A single stubby post (circa 12-16 inches high) on the corner at the bottom right of the image (where the right most tyre mark is) will prevent them driving over that bit. You could do that yourself - just buy a fence post with a point, drive it in and sawn the top off at the preferred height.

If they drive over your garden, they will damage their car on the post and all you need to do is straighten or replace the post which is cheap.

I think you’ll be fine with that with it being a divider. I was picturing something going all the way around the front of the garden. How come that bit of the garden isn’t turfed though, is it meant to be for plants and shrubs?

No idea what they drove over that bit as it looks like there is tons of room to get out before the metal railing on the right of the image.

BTW - I wouldn't expect that hedge to do well. Far too few plants spread out too thinly. You need to quadruple up on what is already there or you'll be waiting years and years for it to thicken properly.

Ah that's quite tasteful..looks good lee. How you finding the house?
It's cool so far, still waiting for some snags to be sorted. Plenty of space though :)

The bit of garden next to my new fence is not planted because when the builders did my garden there was still Heras fencing along there protecting the rest of the building site, and of course they never came back to plant it up. The square at the bottom right corner is supposed to be where a bin store (for bin day only) is going for the 5 houses including my next door neighbour as they are on a private drive, but they have put it in at the opposite side next to the metal railing.

The builders put the hedge in and it's crap in fact it was already dead when I got the keys as they never watered it. Most folk have pulled theirs out and mine is coming out too.
