*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

Yeah, it wouldn't be remarkable but would still be a decent improvement in cost per frame over last gen.
Especially if RT was close and fsr 4 really was good. I just can't see Nvidia cards with less than 16gb being less than 800 next Gen so that rules them out for me. I am happy to stick but 4080 type performance for 600 would be very tempting for me.

Happy to be disappointed though :-)

All I'm hoping for is some kind of hardware-accelerated upscaling from FSR4 for the RDNA3 cards, totally not bothered about the hardware (bar a possible 9800X3D upgrade, but it's hardly needed).
Not up to speed with the rest of the thread yet, but yeah - As far as I'm aware they bothered to include 'AI compute units' on the cards but they're not used yet... if they can get FSR within even an optimistic spitting distance of DLSS it'll be a pretty good offering. I'm still, overall, very happy with my 7900XT vs nV competition at the same price points.

AV1 is good for content creators. smaller files, quicker to encode, better quality at lower bitrates etc. only issue is twitter doesn't like it.
Couldn't care less about twitter personally, but I just upgraded to Vegas 21 edit and still not tested if that can work with AV1, previous versions definitely couldn't.
It absolutely seems better for a number of reasons than x264/5

OMG there has to be some leaks we can speculate about! All those Nvidia related threads are driving me crazy. I keep visiting them because the AMD threads are dead but the things they say drive me up the wall. Full of inane nonsense.

You can speculate about when I'm about to take my next leak, otherwise we can wait a few days :p

What's special about the 6th and 7th if CES isn't until the 9th?

CES actually starts on Jan5 but Jan 5 and 6 are closed door conference days and it's where Nvidia and amd like to do announcements. Jan 7-10 is when there is the open floor showroom that you normally think of when you think of ces

Oh I do hope so then I can happily run my current PSU until a full build maybe around AM6 time (never been a fan of adapters for connections)
