Will you be buying Apple Vision Pro once it gets released in the UK.?

gthink that was expected tbh based on what ive seen. maybe able to pick one up cheap?
At that price, it was only ever going to be an expensive tech demo. Though it will have pushed competitors to push their boundaries to make better headsets with better features. There was a running joke on the meta 'ideas' forum, that if you wanted a new feature, it would be better to post it in the AVP forum, and then meta would copy it. Strangely the meta ideas forum is no longer accessible.

Not good news, 1 less innovator in the VR space and less competition for Meta. I think you can get 3rd party controllers for it now and play a few games but releasing it without those cut out a big userbase I think. Would love to experience what the display is like.

I have one and the display is excellent, razer sharp. I also have a Quest 3. I am borrowing a friends MacBook to see what the widescreen monitor view will bring me. I remove the light shield as I use the Annapro 2 head strap to get closer to the lenses. For watching content it’s amazing. I didn’t and wouldn’t pay retail price. I picked one up in mint condition for a lot less.

thanks, i think i quickly looked at that articl but only the headline and 1st paragraph at the top
its disappointing how little they are advertising the controller support, it means more apps could be easily developed quickly

Apple announced the Vision Pro is getting upgraded to the M5 chip

The upgrade increases performance a bit, they've used this to give the updated headset a 10% higher resolution* in each eye and the refresh rate is also increased to 120hz from 100hz

It's also got a new band and the battery life is 25% better

Same price as the original unfortunately

Available 22 October

* The new headset uses the same 23 million pixel Micro OLED screens, the promised 10% higher resolution is for the internal rendering resolution

Apparently the GPU grunt of the upgraded M5 chip is equivalent to a 3060 which is really impressive imo considering it's a mobile chipset.
