SAS Rogue Heroes (BBC)

Just binged S2, decent. I'm sort of getting used to modern music in these things, bit jarring at times but not terrible. Looking forward to S3.

I'm still in the middle of watching S2, but I don't mind the modern music. What they've chosen so far complements the energy on screen.

Enjoyed s2, bit slow to get going and liked how they showed more historic shots to tie into the story this time around

Reminds me of playing Medal of Honor!

Have enjoyed S2 so far, only got a couple of episodes left which will probably tick off this evening. Presumably a Series 3 would be to take it through to the end of the campaign which would be a good way to sew it up.

Paddy Mayne was so boring in S2.
That actor is so obviously not Irish and is belabouring the accent and intonation like a first-year drama student trying to play Hamlet... and the righteous proclamation of poetic prose is just irritating, now.

Have to say I agree. Enjoyed S2 a fair deal but the Paddy Mayne character and actor were grating on me by the end.

I'd agree—the constant quotes from poetry or words smiths did get rather gratey.

I hope the series has some longevity. It could cover the 1950s deployments to Malaya and Oman.

Catching up on Season 1 now. Doesn't really get going until Ep3, then we get the massacre of the German airmen and ground crew in the mess hall while unarmed and inebriated, with no chance to surrender. It appears from Googling this actually happened so not putting in a spoiler, but the legality of what they did must be questionable, even for the SAS. If German commandos had done similar to a British base and those responsible traced, would surely have been categorised as a war crime and someone might well have ended up on a trapdoor with a noose around their neck...
