Doesn't matter a 5090 is a 5090. I think if people do get a chance to buy it might not be necessarily their first choice or maybe even second choice. You get one in and when the one you want does come in then you can rma it or sell it. I am pretty sure you will not lose any money on doing that.
Wait that **** pays if your electronics break? That's news to me lol

Oh yes. Scratched a monitor the other year claimed for that accidental damage is a godsend
They asked for a photo paid out and let me keep the monitor so i brought new monitor and sold the other for 150

Work has decided definitively for me. Was getting sent to Saudi for a couple of days, a late departure, so had enough time to have a go at getting a 5090 before I set off....
Now off to Tokyo instead, first thing in the morning, so I'll be somewhere close to the Chinese border at 2pm, and don't think the wifi on the aircraft will be fit for purpose - I've also had issues using a credit card over the onboard wifi before, so it's a hard pass for me - for now...
...just as well - I want to see how it performs in VR before committing, and may need to do a spot of overtime to pay for it.
One shop has announced the price they are selling the 5080 for - not great news as I was hoping to get one near the £1000 mark.
In line with worldwide market availability, consumers will be able to purchase limited stock of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 online from the Store on 30th January on a first-come-first-serve basis, from £1,245.99. Further stock of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 will become available over time, meanwhile the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5070 Ti and 5070 will also be available online via the Store in the coming weeks.

Yup, had no idea, thought it was only for if your stuff gets stolen or something lol
Selling a 4090 Strix that cheap is a terrible deal seller wise given what we've been told about 5000 series stock levels and prices.
Especially if the intention is the expectation that they will be able to buy a 5090 to replace it at anything less that an eye-watering price any time soon (unless their very lucky with an FE)
