Samsung Galaxy S25 Family Thread

So I have got my S25u earlier today, the Titanium Jade, depends on the light hitting just right to capture any colour:

1st thing I did was install the screen protector, which is something that has gotten much easier since the last time I had to install one!

I have the Torras tempered glass protector, don't seem to have any issues so far* have only been in the house so haven't used my phone case yet*, I am liking the feel of the phone in the hand! My old s10+ had a ceramic back and I always felt like it was ready to slip out of my hand at any minute,

I've been using the 3 swipe gestures for navigation for a few years - view recent apps/home screen/go back, and have become quite used to using this method to navigate around, seems the swipe gestures have changed somewhat, may take a while to get used to the new way of doing things

Screen has been bumped up to its maximum resolution, one nifty benefit is I now have get to us 5g, my sim card/mobile contract has had 5g for a few years now but my s10 was the non 5g version, still setting up the rest of the phone only got some of the bare essentials on ATM.
Have you lost the Anti-Glare with fitting a Torras tempered glass protector?

I another downside i've noticed is, The S Pen again, they are using cheap plastic for the pen, compared to the Pen on my S23 ultra
Same. There's no way it was worth the upgrade from the S24 Ultra, but with the discounts etc its a no brainer to scratch the upgrade itch. The fact that I needed a new contract anyway means it's cost me almost nothing once I sell the earbuds, and I'm happy with what I've paid because I do like it.
For me its been better getting a separate sim only deal in the past, but I dont know if that will be the case this year.

The Jet black I have is the same, depends on how the light hits it you get black or dark blue, I would call the colour midnight.
I also install the screen protector, first but you loose the anti glare but I would take it over scratching the screen.
Got a slim case

What Slim Case did you get?

Sorry had to quick edit - forgot to remove the IMEI

Honestly I didn't use the phone with the anti glare but I've already noticed much less glare vs my old phone, I'll keep you posted over the next few days on how bad the glare is with the screen protector.

That's usually the case for me, but the SamsungxThree deals for the S25 series were decent enough to offset the fact that it's Three. Which is saying something.

I also got an S25+ and after discounts I paid £119. That's without taking into account Topcashback and selling the earbuds, charger and case.
Then its £17 a month (actually £18.50 x12 then £20x12. Thanks Ofcom) for 600GB of data. I think the sim deals this year were actually competitive with all the offers that were going around.

I ended up getting 2 cheap ones off Ali and the bay, the frosted one is PC, very slim comfy to hold but Im not sure it offer much rptection around the screen edge or camera are. and the black one is PC and TPU, a little bulky.

Love that orange highlight on the frosted one.

To be honest I never look, but I really should have.

Did you see this? Looks like Samsung may have left the hardware needed for a Bluetooth S Pen in the phone. Meaning they can upsell it to us after the fact.
While making it so that existing Bluetooth S pens don't fit of course :D

Edit - Skip to about 3mins for the S pen part

Yeah i saw this, the tip of the S Pen on the S25 Ultra smells just like the one on previous pens with bluetooth, like a charge hot plastic smell. So if it does have the hardware in the silo then all the pen needs is a battery. I'd be a tad p!ssed off though if samsung charged extra for these if they did come out with one!

I would not be surprised at all.

"hardly anyone uses it so we removed it. But we are confident that enough people are going to buy it separately that we took the time to put the extra charging hardware in the phone. £69.99 and it's yours. You're welcome."

Or maybe £49.99

I did but a lot of reviewers have said it may not support it, and from the test non of the old spens work, So either it will not work or a key but of software is missing. The S pen is one of my big issues with the S25u, Ok you are not offering anything new but dont take away a key feature, and now the pen is also cheap plastic. just touching it feels cheap. compared to the old one.

I think it would have been available or announced by now if they wanted to offer it.

Picked my s25u last night. Transferred from my s21u. Glad to have decent battery now.

But what is this AI nonsense?!?! I try to removed it from my lock screen but it comes back after a few hours. Messing up my YouTube background playback.

I'm guesing you've tried all this already but just in case you haven't, you might find what you want in Settings > Lockscreen and AOD > Now bar.

There's a toggle there for media player which might help if turning it all off isn't working.

Failing that there's a section for Galaxy AI which might have a kill switch somewhere in it.

Thanks so much, I was looking in the Galaxy AI settings and not the AOD. Hopefully that's done the trick.

Replacing battery after 2 years + is very noticeable I found gives a new lease of life, you can find good quality batteries well priced from reputable places

Hair dryer, suction, plastic pry tools, ipa 99% , screw set and special adhesive glue is all you need, plenty of tutorials on YouTube

Was thinking about doing that but I've had it since release, being five years old and security updates running out within a year. An upgrade was due.

What's up with s25 ultra's lackluster gaming performance

In some of these the ultra's 1% lows are half the iPhones and it's using more wattage (sometimes double the wattage of the iPhone) and running hotter
