I am unable to quite reach the 240Hz refresh rate with the 6900xt. Without seriously reducing graphics settings. CPU bottlenecking may also be an issue.

Ideally an upgrade from a 5800x to a 5800x3d would be great to have. I think the 2nd hand costs of those makes upgrading to AM5 socket the only option.

There is an argument for saying that we gamers have a tendency of being a bit entitled. We expect certain levels of performance, price and availability. Fact is though we aren't driving the business anymore to the same level as some of the alternatives also using GPU cores. But it's a 2 way street. It's almost like these companies expect us to be around should their adventures into these new areas fail or a "we'll give em the scraps, they will eat it all up anyway". We are basically the rebound, the friend in the friend zone for when things don't work out. So when you think about it, the market is VERY open for a new player, or an existing one, to come and steal our "hearts" and wallets :P. Gonna be interesting to see who it could be if it happens. I really like AMD hardware, but if a better alternative exist according to my own values and wants, I wont hesitate to take my business there instead.

A 799 (AIB) launch price with AMD will be 699 (AIB) by April.

I never said I was excited, I said that its not a bad deal considering the alternative(s).

At this point I would sooner give 799 for a 9070XT than 1299 for a 5080.

If, however the raster performance is at 4080 Super levels, then that could get my left eyelid twitching with a bit of excitement.

It would seem like it is in the current market. It seems to have started going the way of the mobile phone where people will happily pay £1000 be it upfront or as part of a contract for a phone which provides little more than a £300 handset.

It's not yet official, so take this report with a grain of salt. As reported by IT Home, a leaker has indicated that AMD is going "Aggressive" in pricing the Radeon RX 9070 GPUs to challenge NVIDIA. So much so that it might affect the sales of its own Radeon RX 7800 XT sales. As per the report, AMD was supposed to halt the production and supply of the RX 7800 XT till the third quarter of 2025, but it has already issued a notice to stop production in January.


This is to ensure that the RX 9070 GPUs can remain in focus. That said, this report suggests that the RX 9070 series can be priced somewhere around $500-$600, as the RX 7800 XT launched for $500. Since AMD has confirmed that their 70-class GPUs will go against the 70-class GPUs from NVIDIA, it's safe to say that one of the RX 9070 GPUs might be priced between $500 and $600.

The 9070XT needs be 30% cheaper than the 5070Ti with better raster performance ;)

I dont care about RT, DayZ has none :D

I’m coming from a 3070 so around 4080 raster and 4070ti ray tracing performance for what I paid for my 3070 back in 2021 gets my money (and double VRAM).

It’s not perfect but given the current GPU landscape, it’ll do.

£500 to £550 for the 9070, £600 to £650 for the 9070xt...they labelled then against nvidia, so this is their 70 series cards...and they should be cheaper than nvidia to get mkt share and gain traction (and because fsr4 is an unknown whereas dlss isn't)...anything more and they wont succeed in denting nvidia dominance...

I price everything against my 3080fe which i got for £650...a 4080 at £1200 is 49% faster for double the money...crap price to performance
a 4080s 51% faster for 53% more...still crap...there's no generational uplift...you're just paying the same percentage more for the same percentage more performance...everyone that compared them to a 3090 saying it's a great uplift need their heads examined..the 3090 and 3090ti were terrible value cards and yet everyone on yt now comares the new gen to them to say how good the newer cards are...what a load of bull

so for me if a 9070xt comes out a 408 levcel, so 49% uplift comared to my 3080fe, at the same price of $650...then suddenly, after 4 years, we suddenly have a generational uplift in performance


just look at hte new phones with the new snapdragon 8 elite chip in there...it's 40% fast than last years chip...yet the phones are the same price..to be fair the s25ultra is probrably launched at the same prices as the s21 ultra from 4 years ago, and in that time the elite 8 chipset is 294% faster in multicore and 232% faster in single core...all i can say it's a good thing nvidia were blocked from buying ARM, or if going by their gpu pricing, we'd all be paying 3£+ for our phones now from scalpers as nvida would drip feed the chipsets to aib's

What about %30 faster than 5070 12GB but with $549 fake MSRP as well :cry:
