NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

no, incoming ships with pre holiday stock inc, once that chain finishes then there maybe a 2 week stall
From previous launches, whats the usual amount of stock per shipment? Not an amazing question i know as it cant truly be answered, but just after a rough idea if you know of one? Im hoping ill be able to get my suprim before march, but i think thats being very hopeful

Every launch is the same as what's happening here. People sell their old cards and then get mad when new cards aren't actually available.

You want one of these cards? Get one 6 months after release, there'll be plenty of supply by then. Do that for every launch and don't give them your money until there's plenty of supply and save yourself the ballache of being involved in this disaster.

Only a 4090 or 5090 would be an upgrade for me, so I can look on at all this and be happy not to be a part of it.

Id never sell my current card before getting a new one and testing it out for a few weeks, then id consider selling the old one. Luckily my partner uses and streams from her pc so all my "old" components go to her as handme downs lol.

Ive got a suprim on pre-order, thought **** it, never done a launch and had some funds so thought id try my luck lol. I think when i upgrade in years to come ill wait 6 months like you say. I just thought it would be interesting and fun to be apart of all the chaos lol. Im hoping by march ill get it as got 12 days off lol, but if not my 3090 will still keep chugging along.

If you have plenty of time then have at it. I never sell my old card first either, but with this one and the 3080 I had, I thought I'd keep those for a couple of weeks.

Both were gone from here in a couple of days, the 3080 and 4080 Super were that good I knew quickly I could sell on with confidence.

Edit: Just noticed you're coming from a 3000 series, for you it's a great upgrade.

Recently started a new job which is 4 on 4 off so got plenty of time to make use of it which is nice!

I always wanted a 40 series but never had the funds to get one, ive got a mate who wants to swap my 3090 for his 3080. But would prefer my partner to have it as for her it will be a hell of a card!

Im hoping so! The jump from 3090 - 4090 was massive, and the 5090 is a bit more than the 40. Im hoping i can max out my 4k 240hz monitor finally whilst also streaming, so we will have to wait and see!

What CPU do you have? Basically to push 4k 240hz you're going to need to pair that 5090 with a 9800x3d.

Just had a stock alert for a MSI Gaming OC from a competitor, £500 more then what i paid for mine at £3k

edit****Someone just bought it too

Ive got a 14700k, i cant see there being much of an issue with utilizing a 5090 in 4k. I guess we will have to wait and see, but ive always been under the impression that at 4k, gaming relies a lot more heavily on the gpu than cpu. If there is a bottleneck, i will look at maybe changing my setup, but im sure itll all be good. Im only going off the fact that a 4090 doesnt get bottlenecked by lesser cpu's in 4k, and the 5090 is slightly better than a 4090.

Notes taken, don't ever buy anything from that scumbag competitor who just had a £500 mark up on the MSI Trio , a card I could have had numerous times at £2500 the past week . As bad as the scalpers just doing it under a company name  what i truly find baffling is who and why on earth are people paying these stupid amounts for these cards ....

There is a relatively small pool of people paying these excessive prices. Once they all have the card they want, prices will fall down to reasonable levels.

I anticipate that stock for many cards will be in good flow once the AMD cards are released.

It's still sitting there. That's an egregious level of scummy pricing by a reseller. The reason people go to these specialty stores is they trust that, while prices may be inflated a bit to help these companies make margins, they're not going to get run over with surge pricing. If I was anywhere near willing to support surge pricing, I'd buy from a scalper or another global online multi-national. This kind of thing may work a few times, but they always and very quickly play out like Radio Shack.

We need these stupid people to take the initial FOMO hit.
