If you really think that you need to spend your energy in Nvidia threads because AMD aren't listening to your arguments, its not working. What you want was never going to work, it was only ever going to push Nvidia's prices higher and higher.

Spending energy wtf? I post because I enjoy the topic just like most others I would assume. It is fun, a hobby. It ain't a job. Maybe to you it is. Lol.

Just an FYI nothing posted on this forum has any baring on what AMD or Nvidia does. So if you actually think your "energy" is being well spent, think again..

I have answered the question, i have put my money where my mouth is. I was happy with the price so after 8 years of Nvidia ownership (3 generations) i switched to AMD and couldn't be happier with it.

$650 with UK VAT would be around £617. So the RX9070XT is probably £629 but with no reference cards to anchor the price.

I wonder if that means the RX9070 is going to be above £500? :(

You just seem to get defensive when people say we want cheaper gpu's. I just don't get that.
 
In fact if you believe MLID Lisa Sue recently said this to Radeon along with telling them to make fanatical sense. She sees Radeon as a huge waste.

I don't doubt that that's true for some people, but I don't think it's the case for everyone. At the same time I don't think that people wanting competition in a certain space in order to lower prices is unreasonable. I'm sure there would be people that would love and XBOX to be cheaper so that Sony would lower the price of the PS5 (or vice-versa). At the same time sometimes all you need is an offer too good to refuse to get people to try the alternative. Having people not see you as a budget brand might be helped if they actually try your products. If people have experience with something and have no issues with it then why not give them a reason to try something different? Switching brands means they risk not liking something about the new brand so it's safer to stick with what you know. AMD need to give them a reason to take this risk. Since it's something most people would have to live with for a few years then the incentive to switch needs to reflect that.

I think it's better in certain aspects.

It was/is cheaper.
It's certainly newer as it was released 4½ months later (there might have been a lot of 4070 sales in that time).
It has more VRAM, but how often is that a problem at this tier?
It does have better raster performance.
It does, out of the box, have a 63W higher TDP.
The 4070 has better upscaling tech.
The 4070 has better RT performance.
I'm not an expert in this, but I believe certain productivity apps work better with CUDA and Nvidia "stuff".

So I don't think it's clearly better. There was 4½ months when it wasn't even a thing (that people could buy). This is where I think AMD need to incentivise people to make the switch. Nvidia don't need to do that as most people already have Nvidia and unless they've had issues probably aren't feeling like that can't go through that experience for another however many years.
 
The day that AMD pull out of discrete GPU's, i see the chances of that building especially when i see crap like this.

Steve's problem with this is that unless the 9070 XT is $550 the 5070 Ti will not drop to $750, he only cares about what you prices your GPU's at so far as it effects what Nvidia do, he doesn't have the conkers to go as hard as he needs to at Nvidia so he's putting it all on you, you will never gain marketshare with pricing, Nvidia will always keep with in a percentage of your GPU's pricing, that percentage is what people like this have set as the president for Nvidia's added value, they created this situation and now they need you to comply with it.

So basically AMD superfans are outraged if AMD prices this at $550,because Nvidia has their equivalent priced more? So started attacking HUB? Wait,what? Are the these whales begging AMD to charge them more?

This is why we have these idiotic prices - PCMR whales who seem to want companies to charge them more,than less. They have ruined AAA games,because of their addiction to microtransactions and then they even attacked people criticising this practice. Now the same lot will ruin hardware prices.

You know what Nvidia and AMD can have the whales. So basically these so called consumers are now auto anti-consumerists,more worried about corporate profits and margins,than their own.

Looks like Rollo had the last laugh! :(

AMD listen up...
