Right ok I wouldn't know I don't do pre order on graphics cards, not playing that game

With my understanding of pre ordering is something you pre order before it officially goes on sale so you get the product, instead of risking it on release day

There hasn't been any pre orders (In that you buy a card that isn't released)
It's ordering a card that's released and waited months for it, that's not the same thing.

That doesn't really happen with PC hardware (It's only happened once to my knowledge with the 7970)

Normally you get GPU/CPU reviews going live with the product going live to buy at the exact same time as the NDA expires.

In more recent years AMD/Nvidia make a bit more of a song and dance about the announcements, if we're *really* lucky we get reviews a day or a week before the product goes live to buy.

Just a bit surprised given the levels of effort OcUK went to with the nvidia 5 series. I appreciate that the new AMD cards may not cause as much anticipation but if the launch of the 5 series continues on its - what seems to me - pretty bad trajectory, AMD could be cleaning up.

I'm sure they won't, given how historically they screw things up :p.

Yeah GPU pre-order isn't traditional pre-order and it shouldn't be called as such tbh.

Pre order is you put your name down on a list and pay up front, the item then gets delivered to you on release day.

How it seems to be with GPU's, there is no pre order, your lucky if you can buy it on release day, you then Get added to a back order if the stock runs out.

Not really a pre order in traditional sense.

Well AMD said most gamers buy cards under $700.... i take that as a confirmation of $699 MSRP

I really hope it's $549-599 but I honestly think the best we will get is AMD will treat us to a $75 under Nvidia rather than $50.

The 7800XT matched a 3080 and sold for $500, that card was outsold 5-1 by the 4070 so if a 9070XT launches at $650 and matches a 4080 it’ll be a huge disappointment.
